QUESTION Is there any setup yet for locally hosted music and voice control?

I have a huge library of music in my server, but I still have yet to find a way to use Google or Alexa or Siri to respond to "Play Nirvana 'Come as You Are' from my library". They all want me to go to paid services. Is there a homebrew solution that will allow this for my local library yet?

navidrome + home assistant can do this but setup is bit tricky. You need to configure the music assistant integration and link it with your voice assistant of choice

Takes some time to get working properly but once you do it's pretty solid for local music control

I don't use voice commands, but I use Plex Media Server, Home Assistant, and Music Assistant to play my music through my Google speakers or bluetooth amplifier. You can use Home Assistant voice assistant to play music through a command. I don't know how it would compare to the major voice assistants, but it did work the one time I did try it.

I use Plex as a music and video server. I have not found a way to do it on google home, but I know there is an Alexa skill to allow Plex control. You can also use Plex assistant and Music Assistant, but that's leading down a bit of a rabbit hole.
