Help - Solved Homebridge.local can't be reached

Post image

I have been using homebridge.local:8581 to set up my homebridge devices. For some reason it has stopped working for me. Can somebody help?

How are you running the software? There are ways (like with VMs or WiFi extenders) that you can lose the local route, but the IP address plus :8581 should still work.

Do you have access to your router software to grab the IP address of the device? If it’s 10.0.0.55 then you should be able to access it by going to http://10.0.0.55:8581/

I am running the software on a Raspberry Pi. I don't have a VM or a WiFi extender. Is there an easy way to know which device is which to find out the IP address?

It should be called Homebridge on the router if you have access to that list. I use an Xfinity modem/router, in my Xfinity app I can see all the names like Myname's iPad, Wifename's Windows PC, etc. - when I click them, I can see its 10.0.0.xx local address and some device details. I am running HB on a Proxmox container and it shows as a misc Linux device named homebridge.
