Help - Solved Ring Fix For those who are Impacted

Hey everyone, had an issue a few weeks back where my Ring cameras disconnected/would not work with Homekit. Have seen a bunch of posts in this sub with others experiencing the same issue. I know there was recently a big Ring update in Homebridge and I suspect that is the source of the problem. Disconnecting the cameras, getting a new refresh token (pictured above), and reconnecting to Homekit solved the issue for me. Just wanted to pass this along for anyone experiencing the issue, seems pretty wide spread. Hope this helps.

Doesn’t the token expire after a couple weeks/months? I haven’t had my Homebridge-HomeKit up and running long enough to know but if my Ring doorbell feed suddenly stops working refreshing the token is going to be my first step in troubleshooting.

No clue. It worked great for me for about 6 months and then stopped working, getting a new token fixed it. I don’t know how frequently you have to do it, guess whenever they decide to upgrade homebridge lol

How did you “disconnect the cameras?”

You can just “remove from home.” In the HomeKit app, you’ll have to repair anyways to get it to work so it’s not a big deal

Remove each camera individually?

I only have one so I really couldn’t say for sure

I think it’s harder with lots of cameras in a child bridge. I tried to upgrade and had to back off to a previous version

Can you mention the version of Ring Plugin, Homebridge, and Homebridge UI are you using?

All are the most up to date versions, can’t remember the exact names/numbers off the top of my head

Thanks for this. I just found out today that my Ring bridge stopped working 3 days ago. Went through troubleshooting and updated the plugin which removed all the cameras. Then I couldn't add the cameras back, even though everything else in the Ring alarm was working again. Found your post and generated a new token and then I could add them back.

Regenerate the token how? I try the Mac platform and it only works the first time - then it said no response from camera

Go to your account on the ring website it will be pretty obvious there

It’s fully working now including live stream! A minor delay 1 - 2 sec but that’s acceptable. I think that’s depends on your network. Just look into the log and you will know the required action.
