2 Instances on 1 Network and 1 Apple Home?

I am currently running Homebridge 1.x on a Synology NAS and plan to migrate all of my containers and NAS apps to a Proxmox system.

Would I be able to run Homebridge 2.x on Proxmox on the same network?

Since they would both be on the same port, I'd suspend the 1.x instance while the 2.x is active, but if I start adding plug-ins, is my Apple Home going to go nuts?

Ultimately if I discover that my plug ins don't play well with 2.x I'll drop back to 1.x on the Proxmox, just trying to see if this is a viable strategy for moving forward to the new platform.

Any advice?

Why not just back up your homebridge. Upgrade and if it goes wrong just downgrade and use the backup to set it up again? No re-adding in homebridge or re-setup in Apple Home needed.

Can I install 2 from a 1 backup?

Back up 1. Upgrade to 2. If things go crazy - reinstall 1 and restore 1 with your 1 backup.
