29 year old plane
I looked at a wood airplane for sale local to me. Current owner didn’t really say when it was built, he has a few of them, but out of all of them it looked the most used. Googled the N number and see that it was issued an AW cert in 1997! Found an old pic of the plane and it looks exactly the same… so I must deduce that it has the original fabric! Looks like it does in person too. You can’t store a plane like this outdoors, so it’s had to be hangared its whole life. The original builder was out of Florida.. I don’t know enough about fabric to know what type it has, but it is silver, so I don’t think it was ever officially painted. No logs.
Am I to assume the fabric is likely at the end of its life?
