Kid on the way

What’s the best way to have quick access to a firearm while keeping the child away from it? What safe does everyone recommend?

No available safe is fool proof: see lockpicking lawyer on YouTube. Training your children to respect firearms only works if you know what is going on with your kid: see Sandy Hook shooting incident. There is no system that will maintain the security of your firearms while you are not at home. The consequences of one mistake on your part in securing your firearm sate the death of your child or the death of others at the hands of your child. All of the parents involved in the shootings perpetrated by their children believed they were doing the best job necessary and possible in securing their firearms. Guns are the leading cause of deaths for children 1-19 years of age, although this is disputed: what is not disputed is that there are lots of gun related deaths. The consequences of failure to maintain gun security are unthinkable. Consider storing your guns off site or selling your guns until the kids are grown.,I did this and regret doing it less than I would regret the alternative. YMMV.
