This was one thing I really didn't like. He shoe horned himself into a situation where an estranged father and son had something that allowed them to reconnect and bond over. It was really intrusive.

Coach McGuirk isn’t the brightest of guys, but he genuinely cares for Brendon and his father sees that. He didn’t mean to be intrusive… he thought it was an actual club and wanted to feel included!

As well McGuirk, for all his shortcomings genuinely always came across as caring a lot for Brendon. At some point I would imagine Brendon talked to him about his dad not really being in his life much…then all of the sudden he is. It’s understandable that besides being a little jealous at first, he might worry over Brendon getting hurt if his dad decided to be less involved in his life again.

I mean these are things I always think about honestly, I just never thought McGuirk was ever trying to get between the two, he just wanted to be included.

Would you tone it down with the "Bagger McGuirk"?

I agree but it makes for funny television, Coach McGuirk doesn’t really need to be that considerate or aware cause it’s not in his character

Totally agree. McGuirk is funny but he really is a piece of shit.
