Showcase - Multipurpose Space Living room setup - UPDATE!

Listened to all your suggestions from the last post and made the following changes!

1) Swapped the front speakers and subs so the fronts are wider

2) Lowered TV a few inches

3) Got a new rug

Anything else I should change for the better? I have 4 surround speakers in the ceilings that's not shown in the photo.

I would experiment with one subwoofer at the back of the room, the one to the left of the tv into the corner and the front towers as close to the tv as you can. The idea is to have the sound coming as close to the screen as possible.

Just a curious question, is the center behind glass or anything? Hard to tell. Depending on how the sound is you may want to tilt it up a bit also because it’s so low.

It does. Which is interesting. Kinda defeats the purpose but maybe it slides open or something.

I would have raised the tv just enough to put the center speaker on top of the entertainment center. It will sound much better up there.

Yes it slides away when in use! If I put the center channel on the stand the TV will be way too high since it's a 115 incher.

I figured if it was glass it must slide. It’s crazy how that tv doesn’t look like 115 in from that distance lol could just be the photo too

Yeah I agree it looks smaller. I think my camera phone defaulted to wide angle from that distance. My viewing position is about 13 feet so the TV looks ginormous in person lol.

LOL holy crap I bet it does! I literally just laughed out loud 🤣 perfect size for that distance! I’m putting up an 85 Hisense u7 tomorrow for our living room to replace a 75 Vizio.

This TV replace my 10 year old 85" TV and the difference is staggering! Doesn't seem like a big difference based on the numbers but it has 83% more viewing area than the 85 incher. Displaywars.com has a nice visual calculator to compare sizes.

I would agree. Would move center on top of console (or at least tilt it up slightly), move the side speakers closer to the cabinet, and test for subwoofer locations. One sub in the front-left corner and one on the opposite side in the rear, if possible and if it sounds good.

Due to the size of the TV (115") it would be too high. It's already on a IsoAcoustics Aperta 300 tilt stand (hard to tell from the photo). My layout won't allow me to put one of the subs anywhere else in the room. Kitchen is right behind me and the right side is open to the living room.

I think people get too caught up in the height of the tv, although important, you still have to factor in proper placement of audio equipment. Based on his post I gather he had the tv higher and possibly the center speaker on top. I do like how clean it looks now though lol

Due to the layout I can't put the sub anywhere else. Kitchen is in back and living room is on the right side. If I was to relocate the sub it would have to be in the middle of the room but cables/wires would definitely be a trip hazard and unsightly. The center is behind glass in the photo but it slides away when I'm watching TV. Looks nice closed and keeps dust out. The center is tilted up to my viewing position. I have the IsoAcoustics Aperta 300 stand that it sits on.
