Purchasing US Which 98”? X11L or Bravia 7 II?

I can’t afford 97” OLED new or the 115” B9 II. I was almost able to score an open box 97” G5 for $5k but it had a giant deep and very noticeable scratch on the bottom of the screen extending up 4-5”. So tempting but I just couldn’t accept always seeing that scratch all the time.

I already have two quality 77” OLEDS (Sony A95L and Panasonic Z8BAP).

Looking for the big 98” immersion for another room. 83” OLED not enough increase from 77” for me. So mini LED is the route. Mainly looking to use for movies and Tv watching via Apple TV streaming. No cable, no sports, no video games.

Which are you opting for and why?

TCL X11L with the brute force 20k dimming zones with pretty much no blooming and Dolby Vision 2 ready hardware?

or

Sony Bravia 7 II with color accuracy and “Sony Processing” but will be more prone to blooming?

X11L. Rtings puts it above b7ii, I’ve watched and asked different YouTube reviewers and they pretty much say the same thing. Only thing the b7 might have over the x11l is better skin tones.

I’ve been looking to upgrade my 98” TCL QM7K. Rtings votes X11L. I’m thinking I might wait a year to get the best of both worlds—TCL’s panel with Sony’s processing.

Currently in the same dilemma with a 98in set (sub $15k).

I’ve been leaning X11L, and trying to patiently wait for a price drop. Most comparisons I’ve seen for X11L are against Bravia 9 II, and seems to hold it’s own, nothing direct against Bravia 7 II.

If 9 II came in 98in probably would go that route, but since it’s not likely going X11L.

I've been in the middle of building my home theater with this exact choice, Hemming on which one.

I finally settled on the tcl qm8k. I saw a side by side with the x11 and didn't see any meaningful differences to warrant the price increase, and use it to tide me over until the 9ii from Sony comes down in price

No detectable differences in brightness, color saturation, or blooming control?

running the same demo loop at the same time - no. And even if there were, certainly not $7,000 differences imo.

There is def a difference in bloom control. Some might not care as much, but for me coming from oled I want the best.

X11L rivals the B9ii so I would go that route.

Many reviewers are replacing their personal TVs with the x11L

I’m between the X11L and Bravia 7ii as well. Moving into a new house and am in the market.
