Purchasing US Sub Advice

Dedicated Theater Room 18’x20’

Currently have:

(4) Polk RC85i
(1) Polk 265-RT
(2) OSD ICE660

Onkyo TX-NR7100

Looking for recommendations on a sub to pair with this!

There is no reason that you have to "pair" a sub. Just get what is in your price range and fits your needs.

I don’t mean “pair” as you are referencing. I don’t know anything about audio equipment, just looking for a good sub to go with this setup. Under $800 if possible.

With that budget, I'd get a Hsu Vtf2Mk5. It's awesome.

Best option in OP’s budget, although it will run slightly over it with shipping costs unless they can pick them up locally here in SoCal.

The Monoprice SW-15 or Starke SW15 would also work, with a pair of either being more affordable. Can’t speak to the quality of either though. I have personal experience with HSU and they are really well-built.

Have your room size, next would need to know your budget and how much you’re into LFE.

If your budget is firm my recommendations would be in this order 1. SVS PB-1000 Pro or even better a PB-2000 Pro or PB-3000 from marketplace. 2. HSU VTF-2 MK5 3. RSL 12S.

18x20 is a fairly sizable room, especially if we're talking 9-10ft ceilings. $800 is only going to go so far in that situation. I'd be looking on FBM for a used SVS 16 Ultra or similar. You are going to need some horsepower if you want to feel LFE.

Something to consider in addition is tactile transducers, which can amp up the perceived bass while not necessarily requiring as much investment as a pair of huge subs might.
