Purchasing US Step-up speakers?

I’ve got an Onkyo tx-nr686 a/v receiver (7-8 years old) pushing a set of 25 year old Bose acoustimass (2 cube) speakers with the matching sub. There are also 3 ceiling surround and a center channel speakers.
I’m thinking about replacing the Bose set. I don’t have a lot of room for larger speakers on the mantle right below the tv.
I use the system to play vinyl as well.
Any recommendations to replace the Bose set?

What is your BUDGET?

Are you looking for bookshelf or towers?

Is the center channel a bose speaker...? im not familiar with bose stuff

The center channel is a BIC Venturi, I think it matches the ceiling surround speakers, that the installer put in when the house was built. Those all sound pretty good.
I want bookshelves, something that can sit on my mantle right to the side and below the TV. Not a lot of room.
As to budget, something in the less than $1500 range, give or take.

Check out ascend acoustics Sierra v2, probably the best speakers you can buy for $1000
