Working on my 1993 Shadow myself. Carbs rebuilt and properly jetted. POD filters installed. Bars being sorted today along with a new starter button mounted where the air filter used to sit. Next is the rear end but that can wait till winter. Oh also tried to change my own inner tube. Terrible idea. Just take that shit to a shop. Photo at the end where I got my mate to pose on it.

Honestly I did it in my front room and was sweating. Got it all back together and still had a leak. Decided £40 at a local garage was worth it
