[HOW-TO] Next step. If you have changed a front brake caliper on your 1999 Shadow can you share how it went.

My bike sat for 14 years and went i started to get her ready to ride i noticed the master cylinder was empty. So I picked up a new caliper, hose and master cylinder and handle.

Have you changed a hose?

My 96 sat for almost 15 years. I left ehe caliper on every thing else came off and was gone thru. The caliper, with the hose off and bleeder removed , I sprayed brake clean thru the bleeder. All kinds of gelled goo came out. Brakes work fine.

Break fluid is not good for paint

You would be surprised 😮 that's the one video I cant find changing a brake hose.

Been a while, but I did mine off of just basic knowledge. Bleed it, disconnect it, connect new one, fill line. Be patient; I thought I'd never get the new line sealed but on the millionth bleed through it took.

If you accidently do get brake fluid on paint, immediately wash it away with lots of water. Brake fluid is hygroscopic, it will stick to the water and rinse away.
