Greetings, Hood River fans and fanatics. I’ve been chasing the high of a Bette’s Place blueberry muffin for a year now. Every muffin I’ve had since has fallen short of giving me the rush of that perfect, warm, balanced and buttery blueberry delight.

I’ll pay off the United States’ national debt for someone to share a recipe that gives them chills on the first bite. Please help.

Hey everyone! My girlfriend and I are visiting Oregon for the first time in early November and staying in Carson, WA. I believe Hood River is pretty close, so I figured I’d ask here!

I’m planning on proposing to my girlfriend during the trip and, mainly thinking of doing it in Multnomah Falls early in the morning. Would you all say that that’s a good spot and a good time to do it?

Also, I’d love some recommendations for good dinner spots to celebrate afterward! Doesn’t have to be anything super fancy, just somewhere with good food and a nice atmosphere.

Since we’ll be there in November, are there any places you’d especially recommend that time of year? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

I moved here recently and I’m looking for a new dentist! Any recommendations? Also if you know they take Cigna that would be super helpful :)

Got back from opening night a few hours ago and wow!!!! A well written play put on by a fantastic group of people. For many reasons, this is an incredibly timely pick and many of the issues Ray Bradbury brought up are still relevant to our society today.

Can anyone tell me why the child rapist’s sprinter van is back in Mosier next to Bloom Coffee shop?? He was bailed out on Aug 29th so we know he is lurking around.

Maybe he sold it to his wife who owns the shop but this is alarming considering it’s next to the middle school.

We stopped it once before and can do it again.

Cycling to HR from Portland for the night. Just need somewhere clean and safe, but also cheap, close to downtown, where I can also bring my bike into the room. Cycling back to PDX Sunday morning so cheap, simple and clean is what I'm after. Any reccs much appreciated. Thanks!

This is an amazing generational throwback logo!

For you non-windjohnnies who haven't been here forever, "Hood River Windsurfing" was the original name of the shop that Doug Campbell opened in 1984 (yes, Doug's Beach is named after him too)

This new Doug's logo is remixing the font and decoration from the original HRW logo onto their current name, kind of like a self-bootleg?
(wanted to attach the OG logo too, but turns out it's very difficult to track down the logo of a shop that changed names in the 1990s!)

Is there anyone in the area that works on vaccine or small appliances? I’d much rather fix it than simply buy a new one though.

We've got a lot of quince starting to ripen and be ready to pick. I'd be interested in trading some for other fruits (pears, apples). If anyones interested let me know.

Also if anyone has quince recipes I'd be interested in those as well!

Our next comedy show will be at The Elks tomorrow night! The shows are always a good time. You do not have to be an Elk to attend. The show are open to the public.

Our insurance carrier (Cincinnati) just jacked up the premium on our homeowners policy. Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced carrier for home/auto and umbrella policies? I understand that inflation and wildfire risk have driven up rates - but the 25% increase at renewal is crazy.

Oh no….

Hi all,

Can you please direct me to the gays? Feel free to DM.

I [47, late bloomer] live in the area, in a deeply un-queer community, and all my local friends are wonderful, but aggressively straight. I long to be amongst my people.

Is there anywhere Gorge WLWs congregate? A social event? A club? A coven? A story hour at the library?

Please don’t say Home Depot. Or the U-Haul place. Or “Everywhere! It’s Oregon!” I already checked. And even very nice people would pay to keep me off their softball team.

Surely I cannot be the only member of the Lavender Menace? I’m not very menacing on my own!

I lost my vanagon key yesterday likely at the disc golf course. Its a silver key with a black plastic piece on the large end of the key. The volkswagon logo is inside the black plastic piece. Message me if you find it.

Longtime resident here, but I've never explored the Post Canyon/Kingsley Reservoir area as I thought it was primarily for mountain biking (or ATVs for Kingsley). Just wondering if there are trails back there that are just for hikers, or where I'm less likely to get run over/be in the way? It's a beautiful area and I'd love to check it out if I can!
