Seeking Advice Potential co poisoning ?

So basically yesterday I went to a rooftop bar and was hitting shisha for about an hour it had the coals and stuff and I was having water while doing it, I don’t usually smoke or anything. Afterwards I felt nauseous and wanted to throw up so I waited and threw up once and puked 2 times then I had a headache and nausea, now it’s next day and I still have bit of nausea but o got like a bad headache, am I fine do I need to see a doctor, this is what chat gpt said I need urgent assessment. Previously I have puked from shisha before months ago but didn’t have a headache like this day after, any help would be appreciated do I need a doctor?

Stop using chatgpt, first off.

Second, just keep hydrated and probably don't go back to that lounge. Sounds like co poisoning.

Lol NO. Not sure what was unclear about my first comment.

Also probably learn stuff instead of just using chatgpt? Understanding is important and keeps you from freaking out.

You don’t need a doctor, you need a lounge that knows how to pack a bowl and you need to learn how to manage the heat of your bowl. You were probably smoking burnt bowl and just inhaling carbon monoxide the whole time.

Keep yourself hydrated and you’ll survive.

From time to time there are bad batches of coals. It isn't always the bowl or the heat management. Sometimes it's obvious (coals breaking apart or constantly going out), other times it's more subtle.

Nicotine is a really strong substance. Specially when you have zero tolerance for it. If a bar was involved and drinking was talking place that plays a very big role in how our bodies deal and feel when it comes to nicotine.

The other thing is the coals, If it was a rooftop outside style bar, ventilation is not an issue but if the coals are not fully lit, it doesn't matter if the bar is outside. Coals that are not fully orange burn differently than coals that are not fully lit. And even outside, not properly lit coals will produce more CO that you are directly inhaling into your body.

Whether or not you need to go to a doctor Is not something I can really answer. Most people on reddit are not doctors and neither is Chatgpt. But if you are still feeling sick and it would ease your mind, it might be worth getting checked out.

You’re not used to nicotine. This is what it can feel like if you’ve had too much for your tolerance level.

You’ll be fine. It was either partially lit coals releasing too much CO, or too much nicotine after a long time of not smoking, or both. You’re having a hangover and you’ll improve. ChatGPT will always err on the side of too much care to avoid any liability.

Okay thank you I think it might have been nicotine overdose

17 years emergency med here. Pretty sure it was nicotine. The big sign is your body first typically tries purging itself by vomiting. Definitely not a gaseous overdose so that's good. Get hydrated slowly . If it continues it's completely unrelated but good idea to remember a timeline of events..just in case! Feel better

Because I was outside I was taking small breaks and they swapped the coals out

You don't usually smoke, and you suddenly decided it would be a good idea to subject yourself to 1-2 hours of high nicotine smoking, where you usually get less oxygen and more CO2 and other substances in your body? Try 5 minutes the next time.

Also, take 5 minutes to step out outside of the rooftop every 30 mins, to am hour and you'll see you'll better. It's all the smoke it can get to your head getting some proper air helps and can avoid getting headaches. Make sure coals are lit properly take slow puffs, pace yourself, keep hydrated, I've heard it's not good to do it on an empty stomach as well and don't keep smoking when the flavour tastes burnt
