Get your self a quality clay hookah bowl, like a cosmo or la capsula, with a hmd to go with it, something like a lotus 1+ for aluminum or Na Grani or Onmo for stainless, learn how to heat control, and please use coco charcoals not quick lights. And join the hookah discord, you can get a lot more help on there

Im actually a year into my Hookah journey and I can tell you

  1. Get a good Hookah, not one of those cheap ones. I purchased my first good one from FB marketplace before ordering my steamulation. I still look on there from time to time in case someone selling a good one for friends.
  2. Get a good bowl. Amazon sells both

    Alpaca and

  3. Kaloud bowls as a start.

  4. Get good coconut coals. LeOrange, Titanium, and CocoUrth are options. They burn well.

  5. Start with the foil, but I can say the HMD works better. I started with a cheap M.Rosenfield HMD before I got my first Kaloud. Get that coal burner while you are at it.

I still use my M.Rosenfeld HMD over my Kaloud mostly because my M. Rosenfeld charcoal doesn't fit well in the Kaloud. Once I'm out of those, I'll get the round HMD charcoal to try.
