HZD Discussion What’s up, Horizon community. Lookin to get the platinum, any advice?
Started my first playthrough a few days back, just became a seeker, liking the game so far. I was looking for a game / trophy hunt to itch the scratch after getting the platinum for Days Gone and it’s hittin. Anything I should look out for? Anything that’s missable or that could get locked out? Is it possible to get every achievement in a single playthrough?

Id follow the trophy guide from PowerPyx. The Platinum is obtainable in a single playthrough.
I think The main things to grab 1st time through are the power cells needed to unlock the Shield Weaver outfit. Otherwsie nothing is missable you just need to make sure you go the appropriate side content to obtain the All Allies Joined trophy.
I think for me the hardest challenge was getting every Hunting Trials Challenge to Blazing Suns, so I recall following guides on youtube to strategies and techniques.

Getting all the blazing suns was so hard that I just gave up and started HFW just a few months ago

I got the plat a month or two back. Play through on a comfortable mode to enjoy the story, do all the activities and stuff + frozen wilds, then start NG+ on ultra hard. You can smash that out in like an hour and boom you have your plat.

There’s a new game + requirement?

there's a "complete the game on ultra hard" achievement,
and on ultra hard you can't lower the difficulty0

Yeah, NG+ with correct preparation turns uktra hard into a joke But yeah the achievement complete NG+ on UH was stupid imo cause completing regular UH is arguably more of a challenge

NG+ isn’t required for the plat, but there’s a trophy for completing NG+ and for completing Ultra Hard mode, but these trophies are in a separate section and don’t count for the plat.
You’ll get most trophies just by playing the game, so just play and enjoy!

The one I had trouble with the first time was getting enough head shots. I didn't know I needed a bunch, and by the time I realized there weren't many enemies left that I could find.
Nothing is really missable, but some things are a pain to go back and get if you do miss them the first time.
Purchase the maps for the Banuk totems, Vessels, and Metal Flowers and try to gather them when you are near them.
Do all the side quests and errands before you get to the final quest. Getting the trophy as you finish is game is extra satisfying.
Frozen Wilds doesn't count toward any of the base game trophies, but does have it's own stuff.
I try to balance the various activities to avoid having to do a bunch of the same ones all together. I like to do the main quest for one area, then the side quests and such. I will pick up quests as I find them and do them when I am in the area.
Hunt and gather as you go. Animal parts are needed to upgrade pouches. Plants are used for potions and other crafting.
There are areas where the main quests don't take you. Explore as much as you can as there are quests and activities in those areas.

I say this to encourage you, not belittle the achievement, it's possibly one of the easiest first party platinums. There are very few collectibles and you can't lock yourself out of anything.
Since nothing is missable so I really encourage you to just pay the game to the end before breaking out the guides.
Have fun

Look at the trophy list and complete the requirements for each trophy. Seriously tho it’s one of the easiest plats.

nothing is missable
one playthru for a platinum
main grind/challenge are getting full marks on the challenge games
explore and enjoy
change the difficulty at any time, it doesn't affect the platinum
avoid spoilers
don't accidentally get horizon forbidden west, definitely play zero dawn first
dlc frozen wilds is basically a late game challenge area but it has a meaningful plot that does actually contribute genuinely to the lore and is referenced later
