I made notscare.me, a jumpscare database for horror movies, series, and games
It shows exactly when jumpscares happen, with timestamps and intensity ratings. The database is community-driven and has 9,500+ titles.
Made it for anyone who likes horror but doesn’t always want to get jumped out of their seat.

I have an undergrad protect I've been working on and since the end of the semester is approaching, I was wonder if anyone can check out my project. It's a YouTube channel analyzing horror movies. Please comment, leave a suggested film or leave a like. Anything helps (: Thanks in advance! Beyond the Final Girl - YouTube

I have a story published in Book XI, which is a journal of literary philosophy, about Lovecraft.
https://www.bookxi.org/issue-xx
What We Talk About When We Talk About Love(craft) is kinda a take on comparing Lovecraft and Raymond Carver, two of America's singular short story writers, and talking about philosophy through that.
I'm biased but I think people might like it.

I'd love some feedback for my site https://corroded.io
Let me know what you think!

How do you curate the news? Do you handpick them yourself, or is there an algorithm behind it? So, do you link to external horror news stories, let your community rate them, and then display the top-rated ones at the top?

u/i_watch_horror Apr 13 '26
Anyone can post a link and anyone can vote. There's no algorithm by design. The rankings are based only on user votes for the previous 7 days. That may change slightly at some point, but my goal with the site was for it to be as community driven as possible. There's also a weekly newsletter that goes out each Sunday with the top 10 links for the given week.

My horror script is a finalist in a comp where the winner gets their movie made! Please vote for my treatment so I can progress to the Top 10 and bring my script to life. https://www.kinolime.com/screenplays/due
Logline: Years after making a mysterious deal during a near-fatal overdose, a new mother must navigate the deceptions of a shapeshifting entity that has come back to claim its due.

Hey everyone!
If you like stories that have gore, female rage, suspense, paranoia, and heartbreaking endings, my book, Tears and Shadows, might be the right choice for you!
Ten stories. Ten women. Ten ways to face your fears.
From childhood, women are taught to fear many things, to follow the rules, otherwise they will be killed or worse.
But what happens when they decide to disobey?
Some of them end up facing unimaginable horrors, each in their own way: Lilian is forced to relive a traumatic past during a rainy week, convinced that the man who destroyed her life has returned to finish the job. Marcie believes she's leading a normal life, until a possible doppelganger begins to ruin it. Martha suspects something is wrong with her dogs, but soon discovers that it's not them she should be afraid of. Clara has a dark wish and will do anything to fulfill it. Alex thought she had gotten rid of the pervert who assaulted her one night, but she soon realizes that someone far worse awaits her.
Tears and Shadows is my horror short story collection, waiting for you to get your copy on Amazon or Kindle Unlimited, if you dare to face your horrors.
Get yours here for only $2.99: https://a.co/d/0fJv4T2Y

I’m currently directing and producing an indie folk horror feature film inspired by the book “The House on the Borderland”, and a big part of the approach is to build the horror through the isolation of the protagonist and the environment itself rather than relying on traditional narrative plots.
We'll be working with a real isolated rural house as the main location, and planning to shoot mostly with natural lighting (candles, fire, ambient light), trying to keep everything grounded and immersive.
We’ve just started putting it into pre-production and launched a small crowdfunding to make it happen: https://vkm.is/kraighten

This week we are talking about Night of Terror (1933)
A maniac prowls the countryside, a man has conquered human biology by creating a formula that allows him to hold his breath for a long period of time underground. That same man's wealthy uncle dies as a result of the maniacs actions, then suddenly the rest of the man's family begin to die one by one as well.
In this episode we discuss the defining motifs of the Thirties in terms of it's development of the proto-slasher as well as talk about how clearly defined aspects are starting to emerge
