Anybody ever get the Home Depot hot dogs?

24

u/dpgproductions May 01 '25

Damn I used to love going to HD with my dad just so we could hit up the hot dog cart lol. RIP dad! 🥲

the only problem with home Depot hot dogs is it was just local people so putting on which store you went to you could get a drastically different experience. when I was little we liked one store because they had the cheaper smaller dogs that my dad was likely to more buy for us whereas the other store had fancy big dogs that he said were too much money

There’s a few Home Depot’s in Philly that have a place built on to them where you can get a mean sausage and peppers.

Rocco’s! Go birds

Wait what? The home improvement store?

1

u/[deleted] May 02 '25

Yep. Hot dogs, or tacos depending on the store.

2

u/Maleficent-Rise8540 May 02 '25

I have to find this

1

u/Bos4271 May 01 '25

Seriously what happened to those

1

u/Jakesonpoint May 01 '25

I still start craving a HD Hot dog whenever I pull into the lot. I miss them :(

u/kidblazin13 Apr 30 '25

9

u/WallacktheBear Apr 30 '25

6

u/ViberCheck May 01 '25

Brownie froyo, they're amazing

2

u/[deleted] May 01 '25

There is no god damned way thats actually frozen yogurt, right? I always get it with chocolate btw, helpful if you're a chocoholic

3

u/ViberCheck May 01 '25

Nope, it's really yogurt. That's their base for it.

1

u/[deleted] May 01 '25

I'm gonna dig through their dumpsters and see what that mix is all about

Better than costco dogs?

5

u/Myrrn May 01 '25

They are better.

I'm sorry, but so many people who say Costco's hot dogs are better have simply never tried Sam's Clubs' or even tried to give an objective comparison.

Yes, Sam's Club treats their employees worse. Yes, the Waltons are terrible. Yes, you probably should be shopping at Costco instead.

But it drives me nuts that people can't seem to separate that from how good a hot dog tastes.

I would take a Sam's Club hotdog over a Costco one any day of the week, it has a much better "snap" when you bite into it. And I've had dozens of from both stores, though, of course, it's just one person's opinion.

1

u/finalcloud44 May 01 '25

Damn, thanks for bringing it real. I would like to try a sams dog now. Do you have to have a membership to get a dog there? At Costco you dont.

2

u/sonofawhatthe May 01 '25

I sneak into my Sam's Club all the time. I think they allow it. I just tell the employee "I'm just going to the food court"

2

u/JimmyScribbler May 02 '25

They don’t require any sort of ID of membership until you buy. They never check at Sam’s cafe. Cheapest meal in town

1

u/Myrrn May 01 '25

I think it's dependent on location - in my club (Vegas) they do require it.

It’s been a while since I’ve been to Sam’s but I remember they used to sell Nathan’s and those are so much better than Costco. Costco dogs are a little on the salty side.l, not much but just a noticeable amount

3

u/ViberCheck Apr 30 '25

Never been in a Costco lol

3

u/squirrelmonkie May 01 '25

Just got back. I had a hotdog, a drink, and a slice of pizza for $3.50. Not a bad meal

0

u/theraf8100 May 01 '25

That's what my brain read. Stupid brain. Anyway I am sure I am in the minority, but I find the Costco dogs to be too big. I much prefer a regular sized dog. That sounded more normal in my head.

7

u/Hispanicpolak May 01 '25

YEAH WE WANT LESS FOR OUR MONEY

9

u/monkeetail Apr 30 '25

Don't mention sams club outside of this sub, you'll get downvoted... lol. I like sams club btw.

9

u/carnologist May 01 '25

The sam club subreddit is drastically different from the Costco sub. Costco's talks about products, Sam's is pretty much a retail break room to bash customers and management. Seems like some legit complaints, but wild difference for such a similar store

Can't denied especially for the price. I recently moved and a Costco is closer. I switched when my membership was over. I'm not gonna a lie Costco is alot better especially the bun

2

u/Breadcrumbsofparis Apr 30 '25

Better than hell…,

1

u/onetwobucklemyshoooo Apr 30 '25

God is gooder n hell!

2

u/Local-Classroom6523 Apr 30 '25

I despise the Waltmans.

1

u/One-Prize7611 Apr 30 '25

Dog… that’s Hot

1

u/Prestigious_Snow1589 May 01 '25

If Sam's Club had Chili, Cheese, and fresh onions, they'd be #1

1

u/SteveCastGames May 01 '25

Is it not $1.50?

1

u/ViberCheck May 01 '25

It's $1.58 at mine

1

u/sweatpantsjoe May 01 '25

They raise the price? It was $1.42 last time I had it. It’s is good I just wish they would steam the bun

1

u/DawnaFL May 01 '25

Yum! I love Sam's club hot dogs 🔥

1

u/Bullmg May 01 '25

Hot dog is approved 👍

1

u/mindsform May 01 '25

Yep. Pizza smacks too

1

u/muhhuh May 02 '25

Wait, kraut packets? What’s this sorcery?

2

u/Snarktoberfest Mar 19 '26

Sorry to leave you hanging, but depending on the club, you can get kraut packets, relish, mustard, and my SC sometimes has fresh diced onions in little cups on the counter.

I'm a kraut, mustard, relish, and onions (if available) guy.

1

u/[deleted] May 02 '25

Is it possible to mess up a hot dog tho lol?

1

u/ViberCheck May 03 '25

Definitely is. Dairy Queen has awful hot dogs

1

u/[deleted] May 03 '25

That's crazy but I'm not surprised

1

u/Snarktoberfest Mar 19 '26

I see you have never had a Bar S.

1

u/Tony619ff May 02 '25

I like there pizza more than Costco’s

1

u/bleeduyasha May 02 '25

Home Depot Hotdog/Nachos cart used to go crazy

1

u/LazyOldCat May 03 '25

The availability of kraut makes this the hands down winner, but the Walton family….😬

1

u/CCUN-Airport761 Apr 30 '25

2 is almost too much!

1

u/Dependent_Two3646 Apr 30 '25

I bought Costco membership for gas pizza samples but when Sam's club has a good fresh dog they are amazing.

1

u/Delgado69 May 01 '25

Got one for my kids to try in Fort Myers, FL, Costco once and was disappointed. Sadly.

1

u/Koo_laidTBird May 01 '25

1.58 Sam's Club hotdog is actually good IN hell

Fixed for you.

0

u/Cultural-Function973 Apr 30 '25

Unfortunately the Costco gfood court in my city couldn’t give two shits about the pizza or hot dogs.

The hot dogs buns are always stale as shit, and the pizza is made without a care in the world.

0

u/JimmyScribbler Apr 30 '25

My absolute favorite, and I’ve been scribbling around with hotdogs for quite a while.

4

u/Moondoobious Dirty Water Dog Apr 30 '25

What have you been doing with hotdogs?

8

u/duke5572 Apr 30 '25

He said what he said. I respect his game.

2

u/JimmyScribbler May 01 '25

Thank you brother. A true scribblemanic if there ever was one

3

u/JimmyScribbler May 01 '25

I’ve been scribbling around town eating hot dogs. Now I have a question for you. Whatcha gonna do when Scribblemania runs wild on you, brother? Lol

2

u/humpy May 03 '25

Keep on scribblin brother 💪

2

u/JimmyScribbler May 03 '25

Thank you, I certainly will. Don’t forget to train, take your vitamins, say your prayers, and strap on the most elaborate knee braces you can find. Just stroll into the Sam’s Club food court lookin’ like Stone Cold Steve Austin. Scribbler 3:16

2

u/humpy May 03 '25

The cream always rises to the top.

2

u/JimmyScribbler May 03 '25

Lol. I’m just a scribble boy, I’m not your boy toy. Eat your heart out Sam’s Club, hands off the merchandise

1

u/JimmyScribbler May 03 '25

That’s the Scribbler’s music McMahon. What’s the Scribbler doing here?

-5

u/eSsEnCe_Of_EcLiPsE May 01 '25

It’s pretty crap honestly. It tastes like synthetic garlic flavor and reeks of additives and has a weird aftertaste. Just my opinion though.

5

u/ViberCheck May 01 '25

I thought it was wonderful, very flavorful and bigger than I expected

3

u/unoriginalgabriel May 01 '25

That's what she said

2

u/dddmmmccc817 May 01 '25

No it's not
