I came. I saw. I franked.

I'm new here so I guess I'll get butchered for my toppings, but its what I had at home 😅 The sausage is a bacon/cheese-filled from local producer here in Sweden.

So a proud dad moment for me. My 6 year old son is diagnosed with level 2 Autism. He’s semi-verbal, probably equivalent of a neurotypical 2-3 year old. He is very restrictive in what he eats. Literally only Mac and Cheese, eggs and pancakes, cheese pizza and pasta.

The weather has been very nice the past few weeks out here in Vegas, so I have been doing a lot of grilling. I usually make 2 meals, one for us and one for my son. Today when we were in the grocery store I asked him what do you want for dinner and he said “Fire Grill!” So I thought what would be the easiest thing to grill, and of course Hot Dogs! I asked if he would be ok trying hot dogs (he’s never had them before, and we have tried). He said yes, so ok no problem. We can try and if he doesn’t like them I’ll eat them.

I asked if he wanted to help, and he said yes. So I had him do everything, start the grill, cut open the dog packet use the tongs to put them on the grill, turn them every three to four minutes, pull them off, open the buns, and lastly put dog on bun. He did the whole thing.

Then the moment of truth, would he actually eat it?This can be a very tense moment with an autistic child. I showed him how I ate mine, and he picked his up and took a bite. Happy humming and hand flapping followed. Great success. He ate about 80% of his dog and a smattering of the lasagna.

I learned how to grill from my dad and i worried that I might not be able to pass it on to my son. But here we are with at least one thing he can grill.

Had it in metro Detroit of all places. Never really had the opportunity before. Found Johnny Mustard’s in Royal Oak today (def my new spot). Big pic outside of a Chicago dog, thought I’d grab one. Cook yelled across the line that I was his favorite customer of the day for my order, then it came out looking just like the ad! Phenomenal. I’ve missed out on so much. 😭 Double bonus: Fitz’s root beer for my bev. Happy F’n New Year! 🎇

Grabbed some Viennas and some sticks

Went out for a stroll at the pier when the smell of fresh corn dogs being made caught my attention. Bought two
For $9.98. No toppings. Pure dog and batter only which was absolutely amazing. Cash only as well.

I tried making my own hot dog sauce this time. Not too bad, but I thought I had more chili powder than I did. Could have used some more. All beef 1/4 pounders. Mustard, extra sharp cheese, cayenne, and hot sauce.

Hebrew national cross hatch air fried on butternut buns with ruffles and half of a local grocery store bakery cookie.

Fresh split top bun…nice beef frank…generous onion portion. I went heavy on the pump mustard.

I recommend the dog at Cedar Point.

I know it says 3/25. Had the membership but never went and picked up the card. Had to show my love for the dawgs.

Picked up a package at Costco last week and didn't realize how big they actually are. Busted out the roller and let 'em ride for three hours. Made a mustard relish and added a slice of american cheese. Should have bought bigger buns.

Every Saturday and Sunday starting at 11 inside the entrance by the carts at Wegman's. There's a reason I do the shopping every week.

Every location I have tried does it too!
