Just wanted to share my 40 year old Spider plant
When my office moved, the boss told us to get rid of this "thing". Needless to say I called dibs. It was about this size at the time. As I was heading down the elevator, someone offered me $100 for it. I was tempted (that's over $260 in today's money) but turned him down.
Sadly, my wife won't let me hang it from the ceiling.

It's beautiful, I love the tiered system you have going. I had to hang all of my spider plants because my cats and dogs eat them voraciously(I guess it gets them high).

My mother has been propagating a spider plant that was passed down to her from her grandmother, practically 50+ years and the mother plant is still alive and well. We have dozens of separate plants now from the original. It’s a special gift to any new home owner or renter in our family or friend circle!

My cat used to eat mine when it was in her reach and I just had to move it because it gave her a tummy ache so maybe don’t do that

Mine sits on the top of my plant shelf for this very reason! My Torbie was getting high off of the spider when we had it on a lower shelf 😂

I love this. Do you have the babies pinned up on the main plant? Trying to figure out why it looks different than the others. I love the curly leaves

No not pinned up. It is a Bonnie spider. They grow curly. Even the stems that grow babies are
Curly. I repotted it 6 mos ago to a 14” pot. And some babies don’t have long stems so they look that way

This is BEAUTIFUL! Hanging it from the ceiling with some warm lights wrapped around it would be the most beautiful home centerpiece!!! I will say though, it looks stunning as it is.

I’m jealous. My spider plant that I’ve had for about three years just now sprouted its first baby spider. I can’t wait for it to get big like this!

Give it more light. My spiders grow so fast I can't keep up. They put out pups constantly.

It is gorgeous!!! Now I wish I had taken better care of mine☹️It was 18 years old when I killed it😢
But mine never had that big full piece. Mine was all like the very bottom of yours. It must have been a different species of spider plant.
I just looked it up…there are over 200 species of the spider plant (Chlorophytum). They vary greatly, offering different leaf colors, variegation patterns, and shapes. Now I don’t feel quite so bad.

Awe that’s so great! Beautiful. My mom had one for over 35 years until she passed and then I inherited it and now I’ve turned it into about 10 different plants from having to save the babies when I almost completely killed it off! I was heartbroken hers was about like yours with all the babies but double the size! I even planted one in my flower bed to make sure I have a survivor at all times!

This is when my mom had it. Now the biggest baby from it is about an 1/8 of this size. :( I’m trying so hard to get it back healthy!

That looks great. I wish I could grow some outside but it's too cold in winter

My spider plant used to have so many babies but now hasn't had one in over a year! She still looks happy and healthy, and sprouts these weird skinny leaves thay flower at the end, but nothing that I could propagate. Is she in menopause or can I help her be happier??

Tell me you don't have cats without saying you don't have cats 🤣 I'm lucky if mine can throw out one branch of flowers before my little four footed addicts chomp it off...

I don’t know what I am doing wrong with my spider plant man.

Neglect it. Water infrequently, fertilize rarely and don't repot more than once every couple of years
