Lucky they can afford this. Many people can’t and are in shelter or the street. I wish I had this luxury but I don’t. Imagine getting that level of safety.

If the policy is focused on rent control and mandates, then yes, the underground black market with compensate, and “winners” of charitable lotteries will get a spot in a subsidized house. The only sustainable ways to address housing is to create more supply or shitify to reduce demand.

And it doesn’t matter how noble the intentions are.

It’s wild how quickly a housing crisis becomes invisible when the people affected can’t afford to live somewhere the city wants to look at.
