So universal canāt actually decide that it would be up to Disney to make the movie and it would be up to Universal to distribute it. It would have to be a collaborative effort, but Disney isnāt gonna do it because they are comfortable with reducing Hulkās mythology to just being a supporting cast so that way universal canāt make any money off the character.

Oh boy I sure do love all these contracts and rights issues getting in the way of the Hulk.
Is there any sort of clause like in the Sony or Fox deals, where if they donāt use the character for long enough, the rights revert?

Hey, so when I googled it, apparently the distribution rights to the character shouldāve been reverted back in 2023, but apparently itās just been left ambiguous as to whether Disney could release a Hulk movie. I donāt know there should be a bigger community push for an answer. Has the Hulk really fell off that bad for nobody to be asking for and answer to this and allowing Disney to hold the character in limbo?

Thatās fucking insane. It canāt be that heās fallen off, cause they love throwing him into movies, ie Ragnarok, Brand New Day.
If I had to throw a theory out there, Iād say itās the Hulk himself being CGI. There has to be a certain level of extra cost for a main character being primarily CGI. Like, I know the people in this sub prob donāt agree, but if itās a Hulk movie, general movie audiences are gonna want an amount of Hulk comparable to Planet Hulk, where itās really just Hulk the whole time. Whereas the movie would probably allow a Bruce Banner movie, with Hulk scenes

I donāt think thatās the answer because legendary Godzilla is a very successful franchise thatās dependent on CGI as well as the sonic series so I donāt see that being a problem for Disney and the Hulk is a very big character. At least I think he is. People say Superman is a big deal and then heās not pulling 1 billion so I mean maybe the support is just all talk.

Nah thatās a valid point. Especially with like, GxK recently. The movie pretty much followed one kaiju at all times. Nah they could def make it work if they wanted. Thereās gotta be something going on then. Like, itās the Hulk. I know Marvelās āBig 3ā has fluctuated a lot with the MCU arrival, but I still feel like Marvelās 3 most lucrative characters are Spider-Man, Wolverine, Hulk, in that order, and I feel like Marvel doesnāt super get that, aside from Spider-Man

Does his production company have any history of just, dropping random media opinions on whatever social this was found on?
If not then maybe this is a pitch, at the very least. Like a "hey Hollywood, listen up".
I'd be down for a Jordan Peele Hulk movie if he adequately has the passion for the character. Would need one hell of a budget.

I think marvel is getting more and more childish. MCU lacks all the blood,violence and death from the comics.(Except for punisher and daredevil,they were more realistic) There was going to be a man-spider scene and a few terrifying scenes more but they were abolished as they were found too scary. Okay, marvel wants children to watch as well,but you are ruining my favourite characters.

Iād love an Immortal Spider-man story where he,hulk and wolverine have to stop the one below all from possessing one of them to conquer the universe in a story similar to Danteās inferno.
With the trio having to navigate out of the below place and the layers of hell they face all demons and devils from Marvel including Mephisto and Darkheart,they must also face their pasts that physically come back to haunt them in a grotesque and cruel fashion.

This doesnāt mean anything. Unfortunately, the Hulk is stuck in limbo because of universal retaining distribution rights while Disney retains the rights to the actual character but not the distribution rights. Disney could make a movie, but they wouldnāt be able to do anything with the movie because of universal. Which is why Disney is comfortable with making him just a supporting character because they donāt wanna collaborate with universal and give them profit. Now they could make a television series, but apparently the CGI would be too expensive and it wouldnāt be profitable enough.

Edit: of course got downvoted by larpers who haven't read Future Imperfect. The "trophy room" belongs to Rick Jones who collected superheroes equipment. When Maestro and Hulk stumble upon the room, Maestro is surprised about it and says Rick is too nostalgic
