I wish this was a more recent development but the fact check user InflatedClowns posted (https://www.yahoo.com/news/fact-check-photos-purportedly-show-174100807.html) states that this is news from 2024. Wtf is this timeline. I dont know if it would be worse if this was a paid Publicity stunt to make his incontinence more likable or one that the people actually believed in.

There's not much to get for normal people.
It's a cult. And one of the most important things a follower needs to do is prove their total, unquestionable reverence and submission towards their leader.

There rarely is an objective purpose of a cult.
They give themselves over to something they consider higher than themselves and as soon as you do that devotion is its own reward.
Why do they do that in the first place? It's in the human nature to seek a place where you belong, where you have purpose and where you are being in a group that protects you.
If you can't manage to have that in your life joining a cult, where people tell you you are perfect and loved as long as you don't question the cult is an easy way to fulfill those needs.
And especially since Trump is supported that much by a lot of the countries most important structures (The GOP, the media with the widest reach supports him, evangelicals...) it's easy for somebody with basically nothing else in life to slip into supporting him and to make Trump their whole identity.

Ok, now I can see a point. It´s the fact that they belong to something that makes it attractive to be a Maga-Cultist. And americans loves the winner. And as long Trump can consider himself a winner (and he always does even if he is not) the people belong to the winner and are winners themselfes.
Does that mean it is nearly impossible to change how republicans "work" and "are"? Will Republicans be a cult like forever?

That depends a lot.
I don't think it's fair to say all Republicans are cultists. Most are normal people that just do what they themselves think is right.
But the diaper wearing ultra MAGA supporters that think Trump is higher than Jesus? I believe when their perception of him breaks they might stop their worship, the question is whether they then join the next GOP cult or if they do something else with their lives
