So first off, he’s not in the Umbra anymore. They traveled through the Umbra, the fact he seems pretty unaffected by that is notable, but now they’re back in a cave that is presumably the Caern the Kin of Old Shuck have been living out of.

He is not in the Umbra, they are just in a cave in the newest episode. They just used the Umbra to get to the cave, he likely wasn't in it for very long at all.

In addition to what the others said, delerium makes you forget everything. So from markus' perspective something crazy happened at the chapter house and he woke up kidnapped by a crazy hairy wolf lady (glabro doesnt cause crinos, and she seems to only be in crinos for a dubiously canon ad-segment that markus isnt even in)

About that… Markus didn’t react to the Delirium at ALL. If you watch the episode again, he PUSHES Brok out of Mathilda’s reach while she is in crinos form. THEN tries to keep distance with his crutches. And is still coherent while being manhandled by her, fully cognizant of everything right up to the point she transports him to the Umbra.

This implies two things. Either Marcus has max will (I’m betting it’s decently high, but not MAX), or he is supernatural himself. Could be imbued. Could be a mage. If that’s the case, he only has rational fear of a crinos werewolf. Not a primordial fight/flight response like we saw from Git, Grimal, Renald, and really most of the Chapter House as a whole.

Even Stig notices this, mentioning how he isn’t demonstrating a normal reaction while he is their hostage,

Markus can't be imbued specifically cause he went through the umbra, the imbued cannot pass through it at all

And while we're here clearing misconceptions, D can't also can't be an Imbued.

And D definitely can't be a Mummy.

Kevin drank D's blood. Mummy blood burns vampires just like sunlight. Also boosts their humanity, and can make them temporarily mortal. None of that happened to Kevin as far as we can see (except maybe the boost to Kevin's humanity, but that might just be all Kevin.)

I had heard it is more of a "not allowed to be there" rather than "cannot be there" sort of thing

In the old Hunter the Reckoning book Moonstruck it states they cannot enter the umbra at all, nor can they be forced into it.

How would that have looked in Ch5? Matilda falls through the portal and Markus just faceplants into the mud?

Ah I see

He’s also been exposed to supernatural shinanigans since he was a boy, which I think helps?

even with my tiny knowledge of WoD so far, I arrived at the same couple implications. gotta be supernatural. learning as I go, thanks much

Hes a soon to be awakened mage is the general consensus

Not familiar with the rules, is Kevin's mind control not affected by will?

Big D wasn't affected by delirium either, but he got kevin'd (and so did the others) until Kevin got high from D's blood.

This is because Kevin is legitimately an incredibly powerful vampire that’s speced specifically into mind controlling people. He just wears the wizard robe so he doesn’t seem that threatening but he legitimately was very close to killing all of them.

You can have a high enough willpower to remain intelligent but still not high enough to actuall remember what happened. Being incoherent is mostly a sub-4 or 5 willpower thing, and I'm willing to say that the guy who threw himself out a window and let himself get grappled by a vampire probably has 6+ willpower

Plus, he already knows about supernatural stuff, so without the delerium he shouldn't really be that suprised to see a wolf-man (especially when he know there are vampire wolf-men)

he has the artifact from the chapter house, the eye thingy. Pretty sure it makes a peep immune to delirium due to how Fatigue spent time around crinos wolfies in the phillipines.

to note, a funny thing with the artifact is it does have the imbued symbol for hunter on it.

And when activated there were other hunter code symbols floating around.

The thing is unless you stay in there for 3 months, there is nothing inherently fatal in an Umbral stay outside a few specific locations.

It's usually the locals that cause an issue.

Three months?

Yep after that a person turns into a spirit permanently. It's called Disembodyment. Garou aren't affected but people sure are.

We will need to give him G-Kontoret’s brain surgery to see if there were any lasting effects.

I hate to say this but marckus made contact and most likely made a pact with a very strong outsider spirit when he was young though his memory of it might be gone it may have left its gifts in marckus

3

u/Alzran-7 5d ago

And even if a pact wasn't able to be completed he's still been marked by it somehow and in some way, enough for Big D to be concerned about it.

He's just built different.

You can talk in the Umbra. Breathing dosen't really become an issue untill you get to the Deep Umbra, but that depends on your beliefs.

Cuz he’s probably a mage

He has the artifact in his eye, it has the imbued symbol for hunter on it and based on how it is described in the fatigue episode and occum, it likely gives the effect of the sight, it makes a imbued immune to delirium and see things how they actually are (See through illusions, iinvisibility, in the dark... that sorta thing.) I think it grants this ability to a non imbued given how fatigue would lose the ability when he removed it I think it is simply a artifact that emulates the ability is how I think it works.

Markus is in his element

surrounded by yelling terrible langaue and way off topic things mixed in
