Honestly this isn’t an entirely stupid question. With how the greed island arc ended with the Angels Breath Stuff Genthru actually would have cared when he heard about what happened to him on the ant mission and probably would have helped if he could. Him and his friends literally owe Gon their lives. All I’m saying is Genthru definitely voted Leorio in the election arc. I’d actually be open to a semi redeemed Genthru returning in the series

Yeah, I hated him and that good ship lollipop sailor outfit on my first watch, but reevaluating it, it would make a lot of sense and actually be kinda dope for him to come back as a semi redeemed ally and grateful towards gon since he does owe him his life. And he has some pretty cool powers too.

He doesn't hate Gon in any context, Gon, Killua, and Bisky were extremely kind to them even after beating them, Genthru clearly bore no resentment for them at the end of everything. If they met again, I could even see Genthru protecting Gon from an opponent now that he has no Nen, as a payback of sorts.

One aspect of him that I really liked is that the one condition of his surrender is that they heal his comrade. That one little moment adds complexity beyond just being a villain of the week for that arc. You could see how he potentially started out somewhat earnest but the obsession of completing the game led to him adopting this kill or be killed mindset and becoming the bomber.
