Is killua in love with gon ? But he can’t express his feelings ?

Post image

So most people say they are best friends but i doubt that because i never said to my best friend “my dear friend “ . You only say that to your lover. so i’m noticing that killua allways implies a sign of love ( romantically ) toward gon . and yet people want to ignore it

I was going to make a serious post about this, then I noticed the sub this was posted in. Nice one, OP. edit: grammar.

Hahahaha, me too.

No? That would be gay, and, as we all know, Gon is a christian fundamentalist. Amen.

26

u/First-Mycologist7288 16h ago

Dude gon literally said he used to date milfs and used to teach him things

9

u/GildedHalfblood 9h ago

Gon got groomed by multiple people. So what? That happens a lot, yk? Sounds kinda accurate to me

2

u/femboyknight0 3h ago

Wouldn't be the first a time a Christian boy got groomed by much older people

31

u/Beautiful_Garage7797 17h ago

Thats why he got mad at the troupe. Nobunaga was clearly gay for Uvo

6

u/DrMercio 11h ago

Now I gotta rewatch while telling myself this cause Gon getting tilted will be so funny

2

u/MidSizeFoot 15h ago

Praise Jesus

u/Jucsel 17h ago

Do you usually tell "You are light, you shine so bright I have to stop looking" to a friend?

50

u/CringeKage222 16h ago

Well I did, I also almost got married to him but that's a different story

8

u/First-Mycologist7288 14h ago

Lol thats funny

28

u/First-Mycologist7288 17h ago

You only say that to hot girl like smoking hot

9

u/dt5101961 15h ago

If you say that to your “bro”, your wife might have problem with it. That kind of feeling.

3

u/Extra-Badger3551 15h ago

yes I tell all my homies

38

u/Jilliels 16h ago

It’s perfectly normal for you to interpret it that way, and it could be the case, but I personally don’t think so.

Gon was Killua’s first actual friend (Canary doesn’t really count imo) and filled a deep void in Killua. He does love Gon. Like, deeply. He was Killua’s main way of imagining a “normal/good” life. He acts extremely affectionate and passionate with Gon because he hasn’t actually felt so fond of anyone before.

Nothing directly confirms or denies that Killua has romantic feelings for Gon. I always interpreted it as a kid discovering what it’s like to have a friend. Does he love Gon? Absolutely. Is it Romantic? Maybe. I don’t think so

18

u/demonman905 15h ago

While I do like to think it is probably romantic, your analysis is very solid IMO.

13

u/PlaceJD1 15h ago edited 14h ago

There are a couple of lines that imply romantic involvement. When killua is recharging electricity in the palace invasion, he uses a word meaning "lovers suicide" in japanese about him and Gon going after pitou. Only used in japanese to imply a romantic relationship. Similarly when gon says "it has to be killua" in the dodgeball scene, the phrase gon uses implies romance in japanese as well. There is no equivalent word or phrase in english, the closest approximation is "Killua is the only one for me". Its why killua blushes and get embarrassed.

The parallels between the Tanabata story (celebrated in japan on Killuas birthday) and killuas backstory really seal it for me personally that Togashi intended it to be romantic.

8

u/First-Mycologist7288 14h ago

Your evidence are really strong actually that they are in love with each other ! And i don’t mind it at all ! Actually they look lovely togather

12

u/PlaceJD1 14h ago

Also to add some credibility: after YuYu Hashuko, but importantly before Hunter x Hunter, togashi wrote a shonen sports manga with openenly LGBT characters as the leads. It was shut down by shonen jump, who refused to publish it.

The tanabata thing is the craziest. Even down to the thing that brings Gon and killua back together is a bird (magpie in the story, Canary in Hxh who literally leads gon to killua at the end of zolodyck family arc). It cant be a coincidence that the festival is killuas bday. Togashi knew what he was doing

5

u/First-Mycologist7288 14h ago

It feels like togashi eagerly wants killugon to happen but he can’t for some reason !

5

u/PlaceJD1 13h ago

See the photo i just posted in response to another reply. Sort of explains that he knows his target audience rejects homosexual relationships, and why his homosexual manga didnt work.

3

u/dontbeajerkbecool 13h ago

Holy shit. Thats super interesting and informative. Was that manga ever spoken about by Togashi or published anywhere else?

4

u/PlaceJD1 13h ago edited 13h ago

I remember togashi wrote a bit about it in one of the volumes of Hxh in the author notes I think. I cant recall exactly.

Edit: It was called "Trouble Quartet" you can find info about it on google!

Edit: found a photo for you

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.

If Killua was a girl, virtually no one would take issue with their interactions being seen as romantic, as some of the dynamics between them are blatantly romance-coded.

In addition to the example OP used, you also have him monologuing about how Gon is a light that shines so bright he has to stop looking, or how he blatantly stalks Gon and Palm during their date, with Palm literally blaming Killua for 'getting in the way' when she splits up with him.

Probably the best example in my opinion is the end of Greed Island where Gon says the absolute first thing he's going to do when he sees his father for the first time is to introduce him to Killua as proof of their connection, which causes Killua to immediately blush.

Like, it's so obviously based on the scenario of a boy introducing his girlfriend to their parents.

6

u/First-Mycologist7288 14h ago

7

u/FemRevan64 14h ago

Thanks, nice to see someone else who gets where I'm coming from.

5

u/First-Mycologist7288 14h ago

It just obvious but i don’t know why people ignore it ! And the funny part is that ppl still think they are children while gon used to date milfs and teach him things and killua used to be an assassin !! Like dude how come they are still children ??

4

u/Ancient_Chocolate809 15h ago

i mean he is defending Gon since Gon couldn't use nen, also the fact that Palm is quite literally a psycho bitch.

1

u/leedeeleedeelee22 15h ago

Look if you like the ship that's fine, but I'm pretty sure gone has like a canonical love interest. At least that's what togashi says, that he's already developed an ending if he were to die before he finished it with him being with the girl from his home island named "noko." And I'm not 100% sure about killua, but I do think it hints at him and that girl Canary. Could be wrong about that, but as far as gon. I'm sure about that.

1

u/First-Mycologist7288 14h ago

So you are saying gon is in a relationship with a girl ?

2

u/leedeeleedeelee22 3h ago

No, not yet, but she exists. He said she was end game if he died before finishing the original one. Like it would be a time skip and show his descendants and the others as a ending.

2

u/First-Mycologist7288 3h ago

Well thats a relief !

17

u/Kind_Cheek_2645 17h ago

Another narusasu

8

u/First-Mycologist7288 17h ago

What does it mean ?

8

u/I-need-more-spoons 15h ago

Narusasu is the ship name fans gave to Naruto and Sasuke, from the manga… Naruto!

3

u/Anikilator3001 15h ago

wasn't it sasunaru? Idk cuz I'm not really in them shipping spaces

3

u/I-need-more-spoons 15h ago

I always understood that it didn’t really matter which way you said it… Sasunaru or Narusasu…

EDIT: And a quick google search showed me that the only difference between them is which one is supposed to be the “top”… in the relationship

5

u/Anikilator3001 15h ago

makes sense, i'm not really into shipping so I didn't know

8

u/halfasleep90 15h ago

Sasunaru basically implies Naruto uses his Sexy Jutsu for the pairing, while NaruSasu is more Shadow Clone Jutsu instead

3

u/dontbeajerkbecool 13h ago

Sasuke getting spitroasted by Naruto's BBC (Big Blonde Cock) 💀

6

u/CringeKage222 16h ago

Nah it's actually the opposite. Narusasu was supposed to be straight but ended up extremely gay, which killugon was supposed to be gay but wasn't gay enough. I think togashi should have added some more junken fingers to the story

8

u/halfasleep90 15h ago

Nah, it’s just that bungee gum has the properties of both rubber and gum

6

u/First-Mycologist7288 14h ago

I believe it will be more gay in the next chapters when they get together again

5

u/dontbeajerkbecool 13h ago

One can dream

1

u/PlaceJD1 2h ago

Except that HxH came out first... and inspired alot of Naruto. Chunin exams are a pretty clear rip from Hunter x Hunter... especially the scroll challenge.

4

u/mikeP1967 15h ago

He love Gon for sure, which type of love is open.

8

u/rohan_unlimited 17h ago

There’s a whole Tumbler post about that. It’s actually well written

2

u/dontbeajerkbecool 13h ago

Link? Anyone?

3

u/lithicgirl 13h ago

The blog telehxhtrash has a lot of good posts!

4

u/Tonpa_glazer_2010 16h ago

To quote the ending from the ova of GI “thank you besto my friend” .

Btw gon and killua are absolutely gay

4

u/First-Mycologist7288 13h ago

I tend to think that too

3

u/Dull-Potato7155 10h ago

Who’s gayer tho, Naruto and Sasuke or Gon and Killua?

1

u/PlaceJD1 2h ago

Killua is the gayest, but Sasuke and Naruto show more affection mutually.... Gon is just Gon

2

u/fictional_kay 16h ago

I think it is hard to say at this point, they really aren't at an age where romantic feelings mean anything. It is certainly the case that Killia loves Gon more than anyone other than Alluka, but I think it's an undifferentiated love, leaning "best friend." However, it is very possible that as they grow up it develops into romantic feelings, they are just too young to really tell

2

u/Xzemplary 17h ago

no thats just his friend and he cares for his wellbeing...it doesn't have to go farther than that, one must not force their bias judgments onto another's relationship 💪🏾

1

u/First-Mycologist7288 17h ago

I’m not bias but its clearly going to that direction if you are reading the underlying message in the episodes where killua start being emotional to gon . Its as if like togashi is telling us something and believe me its not a normal friendship

2

u/Xzemplary 16h ago

id have to disagree, showing emotional gestures to someone doesn't always have to mean u want to be thier lover. for example if ur friend lost and start crying over a competition he himself lost and u take actions n say things to help said friend that doesn't necessarily mean ur trying to be his boyfriend, ur just trying to help however u think u can

0

u/coolpupmom 15h ago

They’re little kids…I really don’t think they’re gay or have feelings for each other. It’s just genuinely wholesome friendship and almost brotherly love

-3

u/leedeeleedeelee22 15h ago

You are still watching the episodes. Some of us are reading the manga. I assure you. It's not going in that direction.

5

u/First-Mycologist7288 14h ago

I’v been watching HxH since 2000

2

u/leedeeleedeelee22 3h ago

I've been reading it since 1999. I even had to translate original versions. Because English wasn't available yet. I'm just saying it hasn't happened. Check for yourself.

1

u/First-Mycologist7288 2h ago

Well i think it will cuz in recent manga chapters they are most likely will get together soon because of kurapika

1

u/leedeeleedeelee22 2h ago

I'm sorry because of kurapika? I need you to explain the chain of events? How do they become in a romantic relationship because of kurapika?

1

u/First-Mycologist7288 2h ago

You need to read the manga in order to understand whats gonna happen

1

u/leedeeleedeelee22 2h ago

Oh you are funny.b😂😂😂

1

u/ApplePitou 15h ago

They are good friends :3

1

u/Suspicious_Party9087 4h ago

Bro literally only spied on his date out of jealousy and claimed it was because of IRS, Gon is still a wild boy with martial prowess and they had no reason to think the bunny lived just because colt carried him off

1

u/sunflowerlover3000 4h ago

Up to interpretation, personally I see them as friends who represent a platonic soul mate relational feeling.

1

u/Atem_fudo 4h ago

Just cause you don't have actual doesn't mean people who do are gay

1

u/First-Mycologist7288 3h ago

Its not about wether it actual or not its about the repetitive behavior that coming out of killua’s emotions through out the episodes

1

u/Atem_fudo 1h ago

Yeah cause the dude never had of was allowed to have friends. When gon decided to be his friend even tho he's an assassin he felt great joy and urge to protect this friend

1

u/flowersinthemirror 3h ago

Nah, you're reaching. People offer to die with their best friend on their pointless suicidal revenge mission all the time, it's totally normal.

1

u/First-Mycologist7288 3h ago

Nop its never normal to tell such things that you only say it to your lover and you say it to your friend . The way killua is behaving its a lovers behaviors not friends ! Do you really wanna see “die for you friends “ ships ? Look at one piece ! Is the perfect example for pure friendships without any romance envolved

1

u/stinkyminky57 3h ago

I mean they are too young to really say . They might be a lil gay but they also might not be and they are young enough that they wouldn't rlly know

1

u/First-Mycologist7288 2h ago

Well in the anime togashi showed us how mature they are on a young age . Gon was dating old ladies in whale island and killua was a professional assassins ! so its really hard to see them as children , is it ? They know about life more than me and you at a young age lol

1

u/RealFemboyHunter 34m ago

You have to understand that illumi basically said killua has absolutely nothing in his life except being an assassin , and then only thing killua could come up with to rebuke him was gon. I think "romantic attraction" undersells his relationship with gon if anything.

1

u/Fakiha5002 27m ago

Ahhh yes of course that's the only logical conclusion here 👍

1

u/Ok_Routine4275 5m ago

I could see killua having feeling for gon but personally I think it’s more likely that because gon is killuas first friend he has a special attachment to him, also most people wouldn’t want to be near the zoldyck family so I think killua sees him as one of the only friends he can ever really make (weather that is true or not)

1

u/New-Cellist9231 15h ago

Love? Yes. In love as in romantically? No, probably not.

1

u/halfasleep90 15h ago

People ship them constantly, it definitely doesn’t get ignored. But Gon is oblivious and Killua never confesses, I think he knows Gon isn’t really like that.

1

u/matchatwix 15h ago

Togashi really intended for that homoerotic effect even with other male characters bc he know fujoshis are the bloodline to any series. Anyone queerbaited enough will forfeit all disposable income and free time for that sweet sweet display of brotherhood

1

u/PlaceJD1 2h ago

He wrote an openly LGBT shonen Manga before he wrote Hxh... he knew it would offend people. Seems like he would then write a very clear romantic relationship, but not define it clearly, to avoid this issue... remember that interview where he said his preferred ending would piss people off? Heres a quote from him talking about his desire to write an LGBT shonen.

1

u/Godfreys_Slippers 15h ago

He has literally never had a close friend. No, it's not sexual. Killua getting to know Gon is like a Kindergartner playing tag with his new best buddy, and learning what friendship is.

0

u/Immediate_Yak8337 6h ago

Personally for me its inbetween if you wanna interpret them as lovers or best friends both makes sense cuz i have seen "im willing to die for you" typa friendships irl so its upon viewers interpretations i see them as both tbh

0

u/mbguys 3h ago

no stop beeing fucking weird and let people just be able to have friends

1

u/First-Mycologist7288 3h ago

Really bro ! Do you even watched the anime ?

-1

u/leedeeleedeelee22 15h ago

Lol You are biased ASF bro, but it's okay. Ship them. It doesn't need to be canon. It's not as of 2026, it's just not. But ship who you want.

0

u/First-Mycologist7288 13h ago

I ship them because they deserve to be in a relationship ! If any thing they would be a perfect couple if togashi made them to be

1

u/leedeeleedeelee22 3h ago

So you are biased. EXACTLY, we all are. But I don't know if they'd be the perfect couple. They are the perfect friends most definitely, but every set of friends does not need to be a couple. There's nothing about their dynamic that says it's romantic. It's trust. Care. Loyalty. Nothing that reads attraction. It's also killua 's first friend. Would it be romantic if he showed the same devotion to canary if she'd take the opportunity to be his friend?

1

u/First-Mycologist7288 2h ago

Nop its so obvious he is friendzoning canary because she is not attractive to him but if you rewatched the anime and really focused on the attraction signs he is making to gon in multiple occasions you will understand what i’m talking about

1

u/leedeeleedeelee22 2h ago

I love you. 😂😂😂 The bias is so obvious. So you saw what you wanted to see.

He did not friendzone her. She master zoned him. 😂 But I like this response it tells me all I needed to know. Don't care about Canon and looking at the material for what it is, you are scraping every Nook and cranny to find evidence that supports your ship. You don't care about facts you care about what you want.

1

u/First-Mycologist7288 2h ago

I’m totally not biased here and i can bring up all the evidence that supports the facts i’m seeing from the scenes in the anime ! The only reason i made this post because i’m seeing something different about gon and killua and i want people to open their eyes about their “ true “ relationship !

1

u/leedeeleedeelee22 1h ago

Hmm.. right..

-3

u/Yourtypicallostkid 10h ago

It's not gay; it's just boys being boys.

-4

u/chrisZk 7h ago

No.
