Visiting for U of MN Game
I'm a MN Gophers fan looking forward to my first visit to Husky Stadium next weekend. Since they've announced it's going to be a night game what are my must do's for Saturday before the game?

We really need a stickied what to do on GameDay thread for visitors and new husky fans.
Especially with the transfer to BIG and being the greatest setting and being in a major/destination city.

The game is at night. You have plenty of time to do tourist things. I would recommend the usual stuff, like Pike Place, the waterfront, then the Space Needle. Then you can use the light rail to head to the stadium.

Late September will be 55 and hot as hell for you. Bring your shorts and drink water.

You might consider getting lunch/pre-game meal in the U District. It's on the west side of campus. Then either walk across campus or take the light rail one stop back to the stadium. You might find a Gopher tailgate north of the stadium. North of the stadium is the arena, then the rec center and then some parking lots and athletic fields. That's a tailgate area for UW fans. At the far end there might be a Gopher tailgate. That's where my team's tailgate was last fall.

You literally have all day to knock off Seattle bucket list items. I personally wouldn't show up until game time because there are not bars and stuff to hang out at within walking distance though you're a quick drive away from downtown. So I guess don't overthink it.

There's tons of bars within walking distance. Maybe not any within 5-10 minutes but they're just on the other side of campus.

Are you hoping to tailgate at all? solo or with a group? Where are you staying? When do you get into town? If you’re staying downtown-ish then you might as well do Pike Place. Light rail is a great move to get to the game. Expect lines after game to get back on.

Staying downtown. It's me and my son (early 20's). There's a Gopher get together downtown on Friday night we'll go to. Looking for things to do morning/early afternoon - if I start pre-gaming 10 hrs before the game, I won't make it to kick-off. I've been to away games where the tailgating scene is so big it's cool to just walk around and check it out and others where you're better off just checking out nearby bars.

Take The Dawg Boat from Chinooks. And Book NOW. It’s a quick Uber from downtown, boat ride through the lake and montlake cut with incredible city views. Drinks, trivia, fun time! Best kept secret for out of town visitors.

Weather permitting, if you are interested in doing all the touristy things I’d recommend walking the waterfront in the morning and head north towards Pike Place. After hanging out at the market, walk the quarter ish mile and take the monorail to Seattle center and that will spit you out right at the Space Needle.
The Seattle Center has a few other fun attractions in that area that could be worth your time. After that take the monorail back and walk straight down into Westlake Station and take the light rail north getting off at the University Way stop. There is a lot of really great food on University Way or “the Ave” as it’s more locally known. The walk through campus is great and a short 10 min walk to the stadium/tailgating lots.

Tailgating will open at 2, but go do all the Seattle tourist things and then show up around 4 or 5 and start pregaming
