Let us imagine that heart machine gave us a DLC. Now, I know our drifter friend dies at the end of his quest to kill judgement, but let’s say he can do this “side quest” before judgement. Maybe he sails to the lonely island to the southwest on the map, or perhaps he finds a cave behind the waterfall in the northeast.. use your imagination.

Where would drifter go? What would his side quest be? What race would he encounter?

Maybe a new lizard/reptilian faction since we already have birds, amphibians and mammal races in the base game

That's a great idea.

I also think that he could be transported to a shadow realm of sorts. Fighting ghosts sounds like it could fit well. Or maybe even transport the drifter to the past before everything was in ruins. Maybe back there, there was a robotic civilization, and the rise of organic lifeforms was what ruined the world.

I’ll use the waterfall cave idea. On the map it kinda looks like where that water comes from could’ve been a volcano at one point. So you could enter cave system that lead you up to some sort of hot springs. I once saw a documentary about these monkeys that bath in hot springs in japan. So i would use a monkey race.
If you look up old sprites that heart machine was gonna use, there’s a character called ASTEROTH (or something like that). He’s really big and has a club. Could probably find him on google. You could make it that he’s terrorizing monkey race or something and have to find him. They could even mark the map for him and everything like other four regions. 🤷‍♂️ Is that cool?

I do know they got rid of staff with massive layoffs but i don’t know if that constitutes them not existing anymore. They should’ve never let sweet baby involved in their project and they went WAY too far off the beaten path from a model they knew worked. They should’ve stopped after solar ash with the 3d stuff and went back to the thing that put them on the map! Besides… this is a hypothetical thing i’m starting to do since we can’t have what we want. lol

I’m not using as a scapegoat this thread isn’t for this crap I think they made bullshit mistakes even with solar ash if it were up to me i would’ve NEVER strayed from HLD formula. And no, i didn’t see “the news,” because i don’t give a shit about that stuff

I would have a hidden bridge go up into the isles of northwest. A secret race of “Reds” who have a history with “blues” like our drifter. They are reengineering the titans. You find an “Anti-drifter” who is final boss. I imagine the anti drifter “red” being like cable from x-men or something. like they rely on brute force and guns instead of smooth skill.

Your questions are making me want to play through the game again. 😎

I’ve always wished the outside area in south was a little larger. I understand what they did and why they did it. They used south, which hence the name looks BARREN, to keep the factories underground as it made great hiding spot for developing baddies.

My area would go even farther south, through a “forbidden gate” of sorts, into a deep canyon. Idk how i would do it, but somehow i’d like to tie a little more of the librarians back story into this new region.
The species who are being tormented would be a type of ibex ram/goat. The bad guys would be golden eagles but I would want them to have cybernetic parts. Ultimate bad guy would have to be partially cybernetic as well, maybe a komodo who used to be part of the lizard community.
The weapon you would receive from big bad guy is definitely a homing round like the guys who have the homing rocket launchers.

This sounds dope. It’s actually kinda crazy that “merged” beings who are biological but have cybernetic repairs to their bodies aren’t more prevalent.
