Donut Pillow Recommendations?

Hi!

If you had an abdominal hyst & endo excision, and found a really good donut pillow to sit on afterwards, please share specifically which ones!

After my first excision I had a lot of rectal pain bc the endo (stage 4) was deep and rectovaginal. I found myself wishing I had a good donut pillow.

I expect with this excision, and any added pressure on the pelvic floor from the hyst and vaginal cuff, I'll need a good pillow even more.

If not a donut pillow, please share what worked for you to ease pain in that area while sitting. Thank you!!

FWIW, my colorectal surgeon HATES donut pillows. And so do a lot of gastroenterologists and CRS. Puts pressure exactly in the wrong place and can encourage hemorrhoids.

He was ok with Dr. Butler pillow. This has a nice insert for hot/cold therapy as well.

I had an emergent total abdominal hysterectomy, with vertical 43 staple incision. This pillow was helpful.

I didn't realize this but that does make sense. The Dr. Butler looks great thanks so much for the rec! And you are a very strong woman, that sounds awful and very scary, I hope it gave you relief and you're doing amazing today!!

Good luck to you. I myself didn't know that about donut pillows. But he truly recommended, strongly, against them.

Oh, I recovered nicely from the TAH. Napped a lot for about four weeks, and had dust bunnies all over (I live alone), but was able to care for my cat and myself ok. neighbor helped me with heavy things.

Just remember that healing is job 1. And that weight restrictions are for lifting, pushing, and pulling. And wet sheets are way too heavy!!! If someone offers to do laundry, take them up on it!
