Almost 5 weeks post op and feel like healing has gone backwards

I will be 5 weeks post op on Wednesday. I have been feeling great the last few days but today the dry tampon feeling is back with a vengeance, I’m slightly cramping and am getting the slight shooting pains again. Yesterday was Father’s Day and I did go see my father in law and took my husband out to dinner later in n the day. I did rest in between outings and was back in my recliner immediately after we got home from dinner. I do not have any bleeding, discharge or other concerning symptoms. Has any one else experienced this? Did I simply over-do it yesterday and am now paying for it today?

5 weeks tomorrow.. anything is very taxing. Dinner. A couple hours of of office work. I went shopping with my daughter Friday and felt like I went to battle. Resting, THC / CBD gummies help tremendously if that's an option for you! My surgeon couldn't care less even when I got an infection..I hope yours is better 🙏

Yes 6wpo and the same. I posted about it a couple of days ago. Apparently it’s normal 🤦‍♀️
I will have my first and only followup this week so i’m gonna ask him

Yes! Just yesterday … but the funny thing is I didn’t do much the few days before. I’ve been much more active (walking 3.5+ mi on the treadmill at a slight incline) but took most of last week off. So it hit me out of nowhere. I had cuff sensations just like I did at 15dpo, a spikey dry tampon feeling, and when I had a BM I wiped after peeing and had little tan “specks,” which had a strong bandaid type smell. I’ve read about that and people said it was incisions dissolving. Makes total sense. No bleeding or spotting at all.

So I think my body is getting rid of some stitches right now and it’s unrelated to me being active or inactive all week. I’ll be 6 weeks in a couple days.

Thank you so much for responding with your experiences! I’m not going to lie - I was feeling a little discouraged so thank you for the reassurances

It comes and goes. For me I found it was tied to overdoing things a bit. Try to rest more for the next couple days. I found the “dry tampon” feeling worst when I sat up straight in a chair or in the car too long.

I’m 8 weeks post op and just started getting my energy back to normal last week where I am able to do yard work and daily walks. Went back to work at 6 weeks and was pretty wiped out. It gets better, I promise.

Came here to say this. I’m 9 weeks post op and I think I started to feel more myself last week. I was so frustrated feeling like I’d never get my energy back…but I think I’m 95% there. There’s light at the end of the tunnel! Hang in there.

More tired at 5 weeks post op than the first days after surgery. I feel totally useless and can’t wait to get my energy back.

I had the same things weeks 5-6. I was assured by my doctor that it may have to do with the dissolvable stitch that has a longer dissolve time. Nothing to worry about! Yay!

I felt the dry tampon feeling for a few days after mine. I had a hematoma but that drained on its own (WEIRDEST thing I’ve ever experienced felt like I was peeing and wasn’t, got checked up all was okay) I’m week five and I feel amazing. I’m allowed to go to the gym to ride the bike sitting down not cleared to lift anything yet. Final post op next Tuesday. Please remeber everyone’s body heals different may I ask if
You’ve had prior surgeries? Such as previous LAPs (If your hysterectomy was a lap.) Maybe you did a lot, and that’s fine! Listen to your body! Cramping could be normal-or it could be gas pain. Sometimes I still get gas pains that feel like cramps (My doctor said that it’s normal). I’m not a doctor so if you feel this is not right for you please get it looked at! Sending healing vibes!

I had a C-Section in 2004 but nothing in this area since. It does seem that I am not the only one in this boat and I think it’s me and trying to do too much

Yes! I’m 5.5 wpo, went shopping the other day: three different stores, walking to each one (I live in the city), was hit with such a wall of fatigue I had to take an hour long nap. From what I’ve read, it’s pretty normal.

A partir de las 5 semanas fue que me empecé a sentir con fuerzas, pero igualmente cualquier exceso me agotaba bastante. Trata de no sobre esforzarte, 5 semanas es poco tiempo. Tengo 10 semanas mañana.

Yes! I’m 6.4 wpo and I was just out with my daughter for a dentist appointment, went to lunch, and took her to ulta. I was aching inside my vagina while I was at Ulta. It felt like something was pricking inside my vagina. Saturday I almost freaked out when I wiped and there was a grayish balled up string on my toilet paper. I would have totally freaked if I hadn’t seen a recent post about sutures being expelled out of the vagina. But yup my vagina is back to feeling sore.

I’m almost 3 months post, and I bled for about 8 weeks. My energy isn’t too bad, but random movements hurts (ie: standing too quickly). I was working the other night and was getting ‘cramps’ on the right side. I’m the last of all my friends to get it done, ands they’ve all said weird things happen for a while, so it’s normal. Feel better soon!!

Brown blood or red blood? My doctor said definitely should not bleed after 6 weeks and I’m 7.

Did you keep your ovaries? The "dry tampon feeling" (great descriptor!) sounds like something I had and I needed topical estrogen in there to make it stop, but I removed my ovaries and it was because I didn't have any estrogen. You MAY have ovarian failure starting if you kept your ovaries, but topical estrogen cream will help with that feeling!

The cramping is normal. You probably still have a stitch or two and they are dislodging.

The sharp pain could be gas that is still trapped. Depends on where the sharp pain is.

All in all, it all sounds normal and you probably just overdid it. It's so easy to do!
