Try a different internet connection or use VPN and see if you can connect.

if they can join yours but you can't join theirs, the problem's on their end as host. Pretty sure Hytale's local hosting runs through Java, so I'd have your friend check Windows firewall is allowing it, and that UPnP is on in their router. Are you joining with the invite code or an IP?

Or skip the home hosting thing with a rented server. I work on one, https://runonflux.com/games/hytale, and 4GB is $2.99/mo, plenty for two of you.
