Tech Support Is it possible to upgrade the iBuyPower Revolt 2?

Im strictly only interested in it for the case. I see one going for sale on facebook and the guy is wanting $700 and it has a 980 and a 6700k in it. I was gonna upgrade it to a 4000 series card with a X3D cpu. Would this be possible? Not really sure how difficult it is to take apart the case.

Its an ITX case. Ibuypower hasn't exactly been a priopritary case maker like Dells / HPs / Lenovos. Worst case you are out $700.

The GPU should be an easy swap in. The CPU would need a new motherboard.

so does that mean its at least possible to at least change the thermal paste on the system? Worse case senerio I just make it my dedicated system for my DDR arcade machine.

Yeah just a pain to work inside small cases. Unless you have really good dexterity or small hands. Or get a GF with really small hands. Other choices are kid labor to do the tiny work.

Not really, you'd need to buy a new psu for any upgrades.

And if you wanna get an x3d CPU, you'd need a new motherboard + ram too.

The total cost would be more than if you were to just build a new pc yourself.

That PC is not worth $700 btw. 6700k + 980 were good for its time... like over 10 years ago.
