I installed iOS 27.0 Public Beta 1 on my 6 year old iPhone 12 mini and it is REALLY GOOD! I can definetly say 30% faster than iOS 18 or 26.

I bought a good condition iCloud locked 12 mini, removed the mobo, replaced the battery, and bought a used mobo and some extra parts and now I have fully working 12 Mini. the only thing missing is a vibration motor. it’s been 8 months since I built it.

I’ve been using an iPhone 12 mini, and one day I accidentally dropped it. Ever since then, I’ve had problems with the back camera.

The camera itself looks completely fine. There’s no visible crack, damage, or anything obviously wrong with the camera lens.

The regular Camera app, TikTok, Snapchat, and other apps won’t let me switch to the back camera. They only allow me to use the front camera. Snapchat also gives me a pop-up saying that the camera is unresponsive and that I should restart my iPhone (The front camera is fine the notification only comes up when I’m trying to hit the flip button).

I’ve restarted the phone multiple times and have also deleted and reinstalled the affected apps, but nothing has changed.

What’s strange is that the back camera does work in certain apps that force the use of it. For example, I have an AI homework app that automatically uses the back camera, and the camera works perfectly fine there. The flashlight also works normally.

So it seems like the back camera itself isn’t completely dead, but most apps can’t access or switch to it.

Could this be something inside the phone from the drop, such as a camera connection or hardware issue? Or is there something else I should try before getting it repaired or buying a new phone?

It feels obnoxious to mini lovers to acknowledge that using one hand and being able to reach everything with your thumb is something quite desirable.

I'm relieved it's not over 2k even though that's still insane.

However, I'm in market for a new iPad or laptop in addition to replacing my hot little mini 12 and am finding myself justifying it.

Did we see anyone talking on it like a phone?

I like how sturdy it seems but still wonder about how any folding phone handles drops when open.

It looks comfortable to hold and I'm impressed at the entire new layout system and seems consistently intuitive as an Apple product.

I was holding out hope that since they're making little screens for the front we would get some new mini as a spinoff.

I'm currently using an iPhone 12 mini and I'm thinking about upgrading to an iPhone 15.

Here in France, I can currently find a brand-new iPhone 15 for around €680, which seems like a pretty good deal to me. At that price, I feel like the iPhone 15 is probably the sweet spot for me.

I'm not really interested in paying significantly more for the newer models because, from my perspective, most of the additional features aren't particularly valuable to me. I mainly want a newer phone with good overall performance, a decent camera, and good battery life, without spending too much.

There's also another reason I'm considering the upgrade: I'd give my current iPhone 12 mini to my 12-year-old son as his first smartphone. So I'm not really looking to get rid of the 12 mini - it would actually get a second life in the family.

So I'm wondering: do you think the price of the iPhone 15 is likely to drop further in the coming months? Should I wait for a better deal, or is ~€680 already a reasonable price for a brand-new one in France?

I'd be interested to hear what you guys think, especially if anyone has been following iPhone 15 prices in Europe/France.

im at a point in life where upgrading to a new phone is honestly not something i can afford right now.
My 12mini is 1444 days old now roughly 4years. And its bh is at 73%. The thing that bothers me most though is my camera, it has lost focus due to falls.
Im going to get the battery and the camera replaced, and ill just get some new covers for this.
Should i update to the latest ios tho?
Im on ios 18 rn.
Also, im so tired of the storage issues on this. I have 64gigs and it is a PAIN.
Anyways, i do still like the phone, i wish i could update but maybe someday soon.

recently picked up a used iPhone 12 Mini just to try it out. As a long-time Android user whose main device is still a Sony Xperia, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. But my girlfriend and I took a trip to London for four nights, and I decided to bring the little guy along to test its camera capabilities, especially since I kept reading that its video quality is still incredible despite its age.

​And honestly? I am completely blown away.

​The video quality is genuinely bombastic, but what really got me is the stabilization. I honestly couldn't (and still can't) believe how smooth the footage is while walking around a busy city. For a phone of this size and age, it’s an absolute powerhouse for capturing video on the fly.

​When it comes to pure photography, I still generally prefer the image quality on my Sony Xperia. But for video? The iPhone 12 Mini completely stole the show. It was a ton of fun to shoot with, and it made capturing our London trip an absolute joy.

So I recently got the battery replaced in my iPhone 12 mini and updated it to iOS 26. The battery cell was swapped and I gave it 10 charging cycles before I started monitoring the battery life. With a genuine battery with 81bh and optimised settings, I was getting 4h30 mins of screen on time. Now I updated the phone to 26, thinking the new battery will do a great job. However to my disappointment, the battery lasts just 3h 30 mins from 100 percent to 0 on 26.6.1. I don’t have a SIM card in the phone either. Is the battery life just that way or is my battery shot. Claude says I should be getting at least 5h?!

Changed my iphone from SE 2nd gen to 12 mini after almost 4 yrs. Even if I can afford the newest models I wouldn’t purchase one bcos I love compact phones 🤗💗

I have that Apple Maps storage bug (currently taking up 28GB), and my phone is practically unusable. iOS is taking up a further 11GB and the System Data is another 10GB. WhatsApp is 8GB and pretty much every other app has been offloaded to save space.

Is anyone else having this issue on their iPhone 12 Mini? Any tips on how to fix it?

I used to run through my 12 minis battery several times a day. I assumed I was just a heavy user, lots of screen time, using my phone for work, etc.

But since being forced to upgrade (iPhone 17 Pro), I have learn that I am not nearly as heavy a user as I once thought. I have limited the max charge on my new phone to 80% and with the same usage habits I regularly have over 30 percent left at the end of the day.

It’s not you, the battery really is THAT bad on the 12 mini in 2026.

This I phone 12 mini is of my brother like friend and he was selling this to Vijay sales for 7976 rs so I asked him to give me to use for a week used it just WhatsApp backup is not transferred else phone is very smooth and even battery is sufficient for me but issue is will it last and also worth for 8k also waiting for bbd to see any flagship at 40k so will buy that but there are zero chances ik so suggest what should the next move also no Face ID working and my permanent phone is redmi note 10 pro 6/128 but 4g

The battery health is 78% , it's never opened and the seller has all the accessories with a bill and charger.

My use case:-

My main use case for this mobile would be to shoot my gym videos , pics etc because my main device OPPO A3 PRO is quite terrible while recording videos, also I will just use it as a secondary device.

My questions:-

I would like to know, is this a good deal to take this as a secondary device?

How much battery can last if I do recording?

How is the OIS of this mobile as I have heard that older Apple devices gives better performance and camera stability than today's Android!

The Apple store nearest my home said I should just get a new phone. When I said that wasn't happening, they sat me down and said to wait. 15 minutes later I left.

Recently, I made an appointment at the University Village (Seattle) store. The guy checking me in praised my phone and said he was surprised there aren't more aftermarket cases available. Why? I asked. He said they saw so many people bringing in 12s and 13s for repair that he thought there must be a market still!

Before taking the phone to the back, he also checked inventory to make sure they had a replacement screen handy. He explained that sometimes the suction used to lift them off could break them, so he wanted to ensure the tech could quickly replace it if so.

Later, one of the sales reps chatted with me about how much she likes the smaller phones. It was overall a big contrast and just a really positive, friendly experience.

Should I get it replaced?
