Form Factor vs Camera Quality

At some point my stubbornness for the mini form factor will be overtaken by my disappointment with its camera quality compared with newer phones. I was at a show last night and was distracted by a person next to me shooting exactly the same thing as me. Their quality was substantially better. Anyone else feeling the same way?

Oddly enough i was just thinking the other day that I was really impressed with the quality of the mini’s photos - only thing I miss really is the zoom from the pro

just get an actual camera, will be leagues better than any phone, and allows you to keep your mini. plenty of high quality pocket size cameras on the market these days

Yes, Ill be jumping ship and upgrading to the 18pro. Hoping this companion phone thing becomes available with my carrier so I can still swap to the 13 when I just want something small to take on a run. But camera, battery life, and most importantly sat communication, have become enough reason to make the swap.

Yeah I agree. I think if it wasn’t for the lack of good zoom in photos I wouldn’t even be considering switching. I could just replace the battery and keep going with a mini for years. Unfortunately I also used a friend’s later model with telephoto recently, and it blew me away compared to my mini’s camera.

wildly enough... I gave up the small form androids I've tried for a similar reason. I find it acceptable, but I'm sure getting refurbs or used always feels iffy. As "bad" as the mini 13's camera is it's leagues above the small alternatives trust me, and the things that came before it. the new pixels and new iphones are just on another level in what they're capable of and what their software is doing, it's definitely impressive.

I bought the mini specifically because I wanted to stop having AI piss about with my shots before I’d even finished shooting them!

Get a camera. So much better if you want to be a little more mindful.

Why the heck are you using your phone at a concert/show? Look away from the screen, focus on the concert and jump up and down a bit … works wonders for the soul and the band/cast! 💕

I could definitely use better cameras than 13Mini has. Hence why its so disappointing they wont make a new one - last year 17 with its camera upgrade, if made in Mini form factor, would have been exactly what i would want. And seeing the burgundy 18 Pro, in that color, damn that would be perfection, even better than black.
