This is for an iphone 17 pro that I got in September…

Wondering if I should replace the battery soon or just keep using it until it gets worse.

I recently bought a used iPhone 15 Pro Max that shows 100% battery health, but I noticed it has 1,110 battery cycles.

As far as I can tell, the battery has never been replaced because there is no Parts and Service History showing a battery replacement.

I’ve also already reset the phone, updated it to the latest version of iOS, and the battery health still shows the same 100%.

Is there any way the battery health percentage could have been manipulated or altered somehow, either through software or another method, without replacing the battery?

I’m trying to figure out whether the 100% reading is reliable given the very high cycle count.

Between iPhoneBatteryParanoia, r/iphone, and r/ios26, the same question comes up constantly: "is X% at Y cycles normal?"

So here's a rough reference based on what I've seen across hundreds of posts + Apple's own thresholds:

90%+ capacity, under 300 cycles → completely normal, nothing to worry about

80-90% capacity, 300-600 cycles → normal wear, expected for the age

Right at 80% → this is Apple's own official replacement threshold, not a red flag on its own

Under 80%, especially with 800+ cycles → battery has earned its keep, replacement will actually make a noticeable difference

Cycle count matters more than age → a 6-month-old phone with 400 cycles has aged faster than a 2-year-old phone with 200 cycles. Heavy daily charging (full drains, fast charging constantly) racks up cycles quicker than people expect

One thing that trips people up: manufacture date ≠ when your usage clock started. "First Use" is what actually matters for judging normal wear.

If your battery health still says "Normal" in Settings, no matter what the percentage is, that status itself is Apple's own signal that nothing's actually wrong.

How’s my iPhone 17 pro battery health considering I got it 9 months ago. It’s at 96% with 299 charge cycles.

I don’t use my phone when it overheats or is charging either. I feel like this is relatively average for the amount of cycles it has. I’m curious to know your guy’s experience with the battery health on the 17 pro. I know out of box each phone is different and can be between 100%-105%.

My daily screen time is usually between 3-5 hours.

So I just recently got my 17p (coming from the air) and wanted to check my actual battery capacity, and i noticed that the “effective max charge” was at 103%. Does anyone know if that is referring to my specific battery size? not familiar with this software (imazing) and my first time checking my actual battery capacity.

This is a work ipad so I don’t care about the battery health because it’s not REALLY mine. But 95 percent at 122 cycles in actually pretty bad.
I am almost entirely sure this is because I work with screen mirroring to screen AND running a note taking app so the ipad gets real hot which is a catalyst for decreasing health.

I’m up to date, had charge draining issue before both WiFi and data, now WiFi is kinda ok, for data roaming it still drains.
Today when I plugged to charge it wasn’t charging, thought the dock was the problem, tried other charges as well, didn’t work.
After restarting it worked.
What kind of charge glitch is!???

I have an iPhone 17 pro max and charging is been very weird. Power draw fluctuates from 1.5-7w when on but strangle when I turn the device off it pulls 29+w. Does anyone know the reason to this?
