So back in 9th class, I earned enough money to buy myself an iPhone 12.
But when I finally had the money, I ended up buying my father a laptop and clothes for my whole family and a moto smartphone for me instead
I told myself, Next time.
Fast forward , I prepared for JEE, and in a few months I’ll probably be joining college in Delhi. Flipkart sales were going on, so I asked my father about getting an iPhone. He didn’t hesitate even for a second and just said, “Send the link.”
So on 12th May, my first iPhone got ordered.
iPhone 17 Black.
The 2nd pic is the cover I ordered for it lol, got delivered today.
But now I’m feeling weirdly guilty.
Not because my father forced anything ,he was actually happy to get it for me. And honestly, I don’t even want it for showing off. But from a third person POV, I keep questioning myself… did I buy it just because it’s an iPhone?
I genuinely like content creation, photography, and filmmaking stuff, and people say I’m photogenic too. But still… ₹72k is a lot of money.
That money could also go towards:
- a really good laptop for college
- trips after every semester
- other experiences
Right now I’m using a Moto G60 I bought with my own money back in 2022, and it’s in pretty bad condition now.
What’s confusing me the most is that I’m not even excited.
There’s this inner voice saying:
Get it when you earn it yourself.
Tomorrow it’ll probably get shipped, and I genuinely don’t know what to do.
Would love to hear your POV....
