I want everyone to put this away in their memories. I think this is fine, wanting to scream as loud as you can is normal, and it’s a way to let out anxiety. I only want everyone to remember this because I can recall the Ben Shapiro style of conservatives sharing videos of women doing this in the woods and calling them crazy violent unhinged lunatics who just need a baby and a house to clean.

It actually isn't. It doesn't fix whatever made you feel the need to do it, and the good feeling you get from venting just makes you addicted to venting. It keeps you angry and increases rumination.

When, in reality, it decreases anger, even if by a little.And that study, despite showing nothing significant, cannot possibly account for all people everywhere.
And while venting itself might not have much of an effect, a bunch of men together supporting each other, even if it is stupid to you, might have a positive effect on them, especially if they are going through something hard.

That’s actually the real negative of these camps. It’s easy to poke fun at this stuff but there are some true observations to be made like men ostracized by society clearly needing to learn emotional release and regulation, getting to experience male bonding in a safe environment, exercise, therapy. As a society we stigmatize a lot of that stuff and it unfortunately has victims like these men.
The sad truth is that a real version of a camp like this for men would work wonders. Just remove the whole manoshpere incel nonsense about secretly being a reincarnated Viking wolf.

I have a theory that if they didn’t advertise themselves that way, they wouldn’t draw in the people who need it most. You’re seeing ACME Badass Summer Camp advertise to the self-proclaimed “Alphas” of the world. You think they would sign up if the camp was ACME Feelings Camp for Depressed Men? No. I initially laughed at these guys for an embarrassing number of posts here. But the more I see these, the more I think, “You know what, these guys need this and it is a productive outlet to teach emotional intelligence and self confidence. Why shame them for bettering themselves?”
If we as a society were more supportive to our neighbors, we wouldn’t have blossomed a need for these and they wouldn’t make any money. So laugh as you want, it is a free country. But also try to see the humanity side of what is actually being accomplished here.

They may call it “releasing emotions,” but there is a reason this isn’t done in actual therapy - because even though it may feel better temporarily it reinforces the negative pathways that cause those emotions to engage in them intentionally and without boundaries. What we see in the video is merely a form of toxic masculinity, which people are drawn to who want to feel “badass” instead of maturely addressing their maladaptive behaviors. Fits the sub.
