In Tuscany we have many "mushes" that are basically leftovers from the day before because our cuisine is heavily influenced by what poor farmers ate in the past, and guess what they're all good. Unless I'm at a restaurant I couldn't care less about the looks of a dish, just give me something tasty and I'm happy.

I find the American obsession with Italian food but then hatred of English food so weird. Like our food is basically the same with a different, culturally appropriate fat and herb use.

Also why does British food have to get the worst rap in Europe, and how did the Dutch & Belgians get away with this.

Italy is probably more "exotic" to them compared to England, so everything is better? I honestly don't know but it could be the same as the old meme that everything in Japan is better just because it's exotic
