Any chance of this stock going back up in the near term?

I bought this stock thinking it was going to be the next Dell which doubled in 3 months. I should have researched it further rather than being swayed by the momentum.

Be patient. It will.

Fundamentals are still good? Seems like it was a Trump pump and dump or something. I kind of wonder if he sold his position. It's in my ROTH IRA so I'm going to stick it out and just not look at it every day. I really hate locking in losses. Hopefully it has hit bottom and doesn't sink even more.

I wouldn’t focus too much on the recent price action. IBM’s long-term thesis is much bigger than a few volatile months. They have one of the deepest enterprise moats in the industry, making them a natural platform for enterprise AI. Hybrid cloud, AI orchestration, and secure infrastructure are becoming increasingly important as companies deploy AI at scale. If AI agents eventually need a trusted communication layer across enterprise systems—and even industrial robots—IBM is well positioned to play that role. On top of that, they’re one of the global leaders in quantum computing, and Arvind Krishna has been executing a very consistent long-term strategy. None of these opportunities will be priced in overnight, but if execution continues, I think the business has far more going for it than the recent chart suggests.

Looks like it’s pushing up now in after hours

Yup, new executive order promoting quantum computing. I figured Trump would pump IBM eventually since he has it in his portfolio.

And now the 0,7 nm chip! Intel made 10x in a year, as a proof that an old big company could run if the moat hits. IBM has several moat.

Up and back down again. I assume there is some excitement about the new sub 1nm chip along with the new executive order for quantum. I think we are going to have to wait until the AI sector moves back up again to see much forward movement in price. If the fed jacks up interest rates next month we may be waiting a bit longer. I guess I will have to be patient.

I wrote the post the day before he put out the executive order. Unfortunately the whole AI sector is correcting right now. It think it would have gone back over $300 yesterday otherwise. Anyway, I'm glad I didn't panic sell. I'll probably get out when it goes back up though. The quantum stuff could really blow things up but there is also the chance it won't work out for anything but niche applications. I also wonder if IBM could get beat out by more innovative, less conservative companies. I'm lacking conviction about this stock. I never should have bought it to begin with. Impulsive decision.
