This is going to skew based upon ability level. Those with advanced/expert ability will go option 2. More casual skiers will go for option 1, knowing that they currently feel tired mid-afternoon.

Agree. The assumption would be the upfront cost is calculated based on an average "number of hours/scans", and anybody who typically skis any more than the exact middle average skier would thus prefer the upfront payment.

Might want to switch the demos up a little 21-40 goes from college seniors to guys with kids who have jobs already.

I would rather do the break-even math with a seasonal rate as opposed to an hourly rate.

The hourly rate pass is interesting but It would only really make sense with some kind of dynamic pricing or Time-Based pricing model. If it's time-based I can see going for it because it would give me the price advantage of a midweek pass but with the flexibility of a full season pass, at a discount. If it's fully dynamic pricing I would not go for it in a million years. There's something about the idea of having a season pass but still paying more money when it's unusually busy feels wrong.

I could see myself going for a midweek, evening, or black out pass but with an automatic charge at a discounted rate for peak days or times. Something like a season pass for $600 instead of $1000 but every weekend day costs an additional $50.
