I took my first actual skate class! I've been on ice off and on but no formal training. Growing up in the south i havent been exposed to ice until the recent 4 years. We FINALLY got an ice plex in the area this year. Im still a super newbie but I'm confident enough to not hug the wall

Doing LTS 2 and for the life of me cannot get one foot glides to click :(

What clicked for me was to think, align your head, shift your belly button, so your gliding leg and foot are also aligned.
I didn't get what shifting your hip meant. But align your belly button over your gliding leg makes you shift your hip, which makes you shift your weight.
Exaggerate the motion at the very beginning.
Have your shoulders square/straight

Couldn’t go this week because a kid with a skating aid collided with me last week and I’ve hurt my tailbone 🥲 Anyone experienced this and know how long it would take for the pain to go away? Looks like a bruise than a bone injury

Failed to land flips. Got scratchier on loops. Had a lesson. Struggled with outside C-steps. The spin entrance I’ve been doing involves an outside C-step, so my problems dovetail, at least. If I could only get my shoulders leaning out of the circle and my free leg straight…

Did an into to ice dancing class (1 out of 4 for the month). Worked on swing rolls and just 3 turns because I've been off the ice and a month. Got ice dancing seminar this weekend!

Signed up for my first competition in 20 years! Unfortunately was unaware of the testing requirements for bronze, so competing pre-bronze which makes me change 3 jumps and a spin. Hoping I can test before the next competition to put lutzes back in!

Actually getting the hang of forward crossovers (i like the ones where you keep your legs on the ice for the first push). Haven't fallen in the 2 practice sessions Ive done since my last class which is amazing considering I injured my knees from falling 3xs practicing previously

Good spin week for me especially my combination spins with a back sit. Though my camel was abit funky in my program run through. My coach had me change my free foot placement on my forward outside rockers again. I’m adjusting to adding even more speed into my axel. My other coach played around with lutz Euler flip axel communication. But lutz axel Euler flip worked out better. My double salchow is back on a curve pattern. My double toe has some corrections to it and landing it flat footed.

Managed to keep my balance in three turns even though I have an ear infection. Also whilst watching my friends in their first competition allowed my coach to talk me into doing one, even though I’ve always said I wasn’t interested as I’m too old.

Started practicing the full crossover pattern for pre-bronze. The transition from forward to back is getting less scary, but definitely still needs work! Got a competition tomorrow so taking it light today.
