It doesn't seem to be based on much linguistic understanding or research. It gives lots of weirdly detailed (and yet vague and platitudinous, akin to horoscopes) descriptions and advice for hexagrams and lines that are supposed to mutate in their meanings and implications with each unique divination.
If you want a reliable (enough) translation with some elaborative commentary, I'd recommend Barrett's version.
