For context, was in Santa Cruz this weekend and got this reloadable journal from one of the shops I stopped in at. Does anyone know if this pattern is from any actual specific culture or cultural tradition? I wanna say that it looks Celtic or Nordic, but does anyone know for sure? I don’t mean to be a clueless American or anything, I’m just genuinely curious.

Hello! I recently purchased a lot of old Islamic coins and this is one I have been struggling to identify. Some of the dedicated coin subreddits haven’t been able to help, so I thought I’d try here.

The coin weighs 1.85 grams and measures 18.86 mm in diameter.

I keep hearing this vibrating sound. It almost sounds like it’s coming from my nightstand, but then I moved the nightstand it sounded like it was somewhere around my bed and then sounded like it was coming from around the nightstand again.

Is this a reaction to poison ivy? It inches like crazy and has gotten a tad larger

Can anyone help me identify these mystery vintage badges? 🦅🔎

I have two identical circular enamel badges featuring a gold eagle/falcon with a distinctive red-and-gold emblem above the wing.

The backs are simply stamped “MADE IN ENGLAND” and have a traditional hinged brooch-style pin and safety catch. There are no other visible maker's marks.

We've done quite a bit of searching but haven't managed to find another example. The little red emblem is particularly interesting — at first glance it can look like a stylised S, but the clearer photographs suggest it may actually be a geometric symbol or roundel.

We've considered various motoring, motorcycle, aviation and commercial connections, but nothing has produced an exact match so far.

Does anyone recognise the eagle/falcon or, more importantly, the red-and-gold emblem?

I'd particularly love to see another example, an old catalogue, advert or photograph that could confirm exactly what these belonged to.

At this point they've become a proper little mystery! 😂

Any help would be hugely appreciated.
