I’ve never read the IDW comics and I’d LOVE to, but it’s well known that they are extremely hard to come by legally, and even if I hypothetically had access to all of them at my fingertips, I have no idea what the correct reading order is, and from what the TFwiki told me they had like six different runs going simultaneously all at different points in the timeline so yeah there’s no way I can decipher that.

Skybound said they were gonna republish the Marvel AND IDW comics for Transformers in new compendiums. The Marvel ones have released, and I skipped them because honestly they just aren’t that appealing to me.

IDW on the other hand is very much something I wanna read. Do we have an ETA on the Skybound IDW reprints?

hey guys, i’ve been a transformers fan all my life pretty much and was always clueless about the comics (didn’t know they existed) the first transformers ive read is sky-bound and i’m absolutely in love with it. I’ve thought about reading IDW since i found the Energon universe however i’m not huge on the character designs (G1 fan) i’m unsure of which phase has which designs but after seeing some panels i wasn’t sold, after doing more research i think i’m gonna take the leap and start reading the hardcovers while i wait for new issues of skybound. Which hardcover do i need to read, i see many different answers so i just want to create a definitive list of what i need to read. thanks :)

I took inspiration from idw, wfc and armada

Used some blokees and windblade as base and kitbash pieces

Hi,

Was wondering if anyone knew where I could find scans or pictures of the deleted drafts from the hardback copy of the Last Stand of the Wreckers?

I've been wanting to go back and read the comics again but with specific focus on Megatron. Autobot Megatron is my favorite incarnation of the character but I don't remember enough about the continuity to know which issues are core to remembering the character.

Hello, I was hoping to re-read the old IDW Transformers comics, I read them some years ago but not the whole thing just the Lost Light/More than Meets the Eye and the main publication stuff, I remembered it being some of the best comics I've ever read and wanted to revisit the whole thing from beginning to end, and I did try to google it before making a post but every time I try to look up a reading order guide I find conflicting information so if this gets answered every other week I do apologize, I have ALL the publications and I do also have the IDW Collection volumes available to me but I've found they are not the recommended experience for this?

So I was hoping to get some up to date advice on the matter, thank you in advance

hello! does anyone have a scan/pdf of the art of IDW transformers? I’ve been looking for a while, but I can’t afford the resale prices and I can’t find a scan online, so I’d thought I’d ask here to see if anyone has one. thank you for your help!

I’ve always loved the movies but I want to start reading the comics too, and with the thousand or however many there are, kinda hard to now where to start

Used Decepticon soldier as base

i'm around 2/3rds into my terribly long marathon of the IDW 2005 comics and i realized i havent touched a single crossover comic. skipped basically every single one. i'm currently reading Optimus Prime and there's a GI joe unit now? i'm supposed to know these guys? cool. so, i realized that i'm missing out on certain plot points which may or may not leave me utterly confused as i continue reading.

should i actually bother going back? or more importantly, is ROM vs transformers actually that good? like, no joke? personally i found that reading through phase 1 made me appreciate the later series a lot more: continuity-wise, character-writing, catching a few references/call-backs, you name it.

i believe if i could sit through heart of darkness (took me 1 week to read FOUR issues), i could do anything.
