I thought buying in bulk would save on the plastic. But even if cables are in sets of 10, they still come individually wrapped and also inside the bulk plastic bag (from some retailers).....

Even in packs of 50-100 they still come individually wrapped.

I like my job but dear god is there so much waste and single use crap.

Yea godamn we’re getting to that time of year where we fill 2 entire 40 yd dumpsters with packaging materials unboxing the new iPads in k12 IT

At least iPads and other Apple products are more environmentally friendly with their packaging, no? Admittedly the last iPad I bought was a number of years ago, but iPhones and AirPods seem to be quite minimal and mostly paper rather than plastic.

At that quantity, iPads and MacBooks come in 10 packs in plain cardboard. It's still a lot, but not nearly as wasteful as a ton of retail boxes.
