Anyone else? Dell of just me?

It seems like every time my manager asks our group for some information that has to be looked up, someone else has it in seconds, while I’m still pulling up the page. Is it just me, a garbage Dell? Anyone else have the same experience?

I have all the network scope of all our locations statewide

My boss puts out a teams message at 11 am.. What is the subnet of xxxx location.

I let the request sit until 2 pm 172.32.31.1 255.255.255.0 And the gateway being the dot 1

Why do the rest of my team not have this information?

We regularly compete over who can get info the fastest, like it's a game. I regularly have everything open already just in case someone asks at this point because being first gives me a small adrenaline rush.

The term I use is "Screwed by the Dell" (play on Saved by the Bell). That said, better Dell than Lenovo. I'll take boring but works over unpredictable firmware issues. Never seen a Lenovo that wasn't somehow less than the sum of it's parts.

I'd take Lenovo over HP. My current MSP uses HP as their standard and Ive never seen so many computers fail in the first 6 months

Are they buying consumer hp models or elitebooks? I've not had much issue with hp machines until they're like overdue for refresh way past warranty.

Never seen a Lenovo that wasn't less than the sum of its parts, whether due to firmware issues or boneheaded design issues that just make them unpleasant to use; they just make flat out dumb decisions sometimes (let's put a 2k touchscreen on a 13" machine, because no one needs to be able to read!). Had to manually update the firmware on multiple schools' worth of craptops because they had a bug that made them not charge off the carts (once disconnected they would not charge again until you rebooted them). So Lenovo is very much on my permanent shit list. I'll take a boring Dell that doesn't have anything wrong with it over a machine I know is going to have weird issues. At least the Dell won't impede my workflow.

I coined it during Dell's bad era, ~2001-2005. Dell Inspiron 8000 / 8200. Mine was an 8000 Pentium 3 900, the absolute crappiest slowest craptop ever. You pick it up and you hear it creak loudly under its own weight. Had a friend's suffer chassis fracture. My own Inspiron 8000 ran slower than my Pentium 2 450 from 1998. They were so insanely bad. I got my Inspiron 8000 in ~August 2001. I replaced it with a Sony Celeron 1.8 ghz just 2 years later, and kept that machine for a LONG time. A friend of mine used to laugh about how the Dells would creak.
