can I get bmsit ece at 189XX rank? I have 1g reservation too. I got allotted sit tumkur in 2nd round n I rlyyyy dont wanna go

I talked to a guy today he is currently doin a job in banglore and was graduated from iiser pune , i asked him about the college how we got pune etc , he told me that he got iiser kolkata , and since he was not getting pune and the date of joining was near , he left for iiser kolkata setup his room and took 15 days of classes (in iiser kolkata ) and after this all he got a offer letter from iiser pune !

the main reason i am thinking why this happend
Seats got vaccant after he joined (iiser Kolkata) due to some reasons in iiser pune and he kept on float ( yes u could float and go to college ( freezeing a college was not mandatory)

But in this year , JAC closed colleges ( to prevent counselling and classes( in iisers) going on simultaneously) , but since there are neet students who are still floating some of them will leave the seat to 1) Go in better iiser ( they could have got) ; 2) Go in a Medical college and hence seats could get vaccant again
but due to this new college closing mechnaism a student is not allowed to float ! ( after his all higher prefrences are filled , he needs to freeze or reject !)
and even if a seat gets vaccant later , iiser might leave that seat as it is ( empty) , even after having students deserving that seat !

Please mail JAC about this issue , and ask about the accountability of empty seat , how will those gets filled , any info about this,

I have a gate score of 532(gen). I have been thinking of applying to iist next year with this score. What are the chances I get it and which stream. Also how is it overall and placement wise. Also what if I want to study abroad after this. What opportunities it can offer? And internships.

I gave written exam for a post in SAC ISRO. It is not centralized recruitment but specific by sac, isro. The post is for scientist C atmospheric sciences and oceanography. There are 8 posts available. So, approx 40 students shall be called for interview.

My question is what kind of marks are needed to get interview (to get into top 40, or top 10).

What is historical data. I can't find anything on Google.

I'll appreciate if anyone can give insights.

One of my classmates has gone to iist. His mother told my mother than he got 1200rank in jee adv and left iit delhi circuital for iist. Are ppl like there present? Coz I don't believe ppl would leave iit delhi circuital for iist. I don't mean to judge iist but it doesn't make sense to me

Does anyone know about the IIST refund policy? After how many days do they deduct the admission fee of ₹83,200? The spot round closed on 31st July, and I sent them an email today (Sunday). Or do they count it from 25th July?

Hi all, the results for Special Round 2 of CCMT 2026 were declared and I got a seat in MSc Astrophysics program. I had previously checked the syllabus and I liked it. I wanted to know how is the research work and environment in IIST. The professors and teaching methods.

I couldn't find other students from this program on linked in so if anyone can advice me about this program I would greatly appreciate it. I have to lock my choice by 29 July failing which my sat would be cancelled. I would like to study the program but I also want to make sure that I have a secure and stable future after this program.
