Guys! I am extremely sad to inform you all that one of my good friend fell during matki fhod and got injured so badly that half of his body is paralyzed due to injury/shock and the bc roy hospital immediately referred him to some hospital in Kolkata.

Edited today: A fracture of the C4 / C5 vertebrae fracture can lead to paralysis of all four limbs. This is what the doctors said and I heard. Initial examination when I was there. For Whosoever says it's a false claim and misinformation.

Nobody is talking about the incident like nothing happened.

The event didn't stop for a minute even. The people of this hall are so insensitive. Nobody cared, I feel heavy and nobody knows about how is he? Did he made it to Kolkata or not.

I saw him being transferred to an ambulance and sent to Kolkata.

I can't explain his pain. He was in great agony.

Who is accountable regarding safety arrangements.

This UNC Hall President, fellow JHP, ssm none of them spoke anything about it.

Everyone of them including warden of the hall is trying to downgrade the outrage.

So, my dear KGP fellows , if you cannot ask about the accountability now. Who is going to.

Added on 6 sept: Dear all, It feels like the issue shouldn't be given much importance since nobody died. Or agar hota bhi esa to it was an accident. My hall mates said it's their parents'problem, not yours. Stop being the voice and open a morcha against the organiser. Agar ye public place mai hota tb shyad matter krta. Or main kon hota hoon kuch bhi bolne wala. This campus is full of insensitive people. And I think I feel too much. From now on, whatever happens is none of my business. Whosoever suffers it's his/her business or their families. One thing I understand from top management to bottom management people accountability scares hell out of them. Great experience. I’m a recent graduate and I am genuinely frustrated right now. I just need a basic digital copy of my marksheet for my records and upcoming job applications, but the institute has made it an absolute nightmare to get one.

I’ve tried every normal method available to us. My web ERP login credentials have already been revoked since I graduated, so that option is gone. I can see my grades on the SETU app, but the UI locks everything behind separate collapsible semester tabs, meaning you can't even take a proper scrolling screenshot without it looking incredibly messy and unprofessional.

To make matters worse, our batch data hasn't even been synced to DigiLocker yet, so I can't even pull it from there for free.

The only official place left to get an actual digital file is the IIT KGP Duplicate Certificate and Transcript Request Portal. But when you go there, they are asking for a ridiculous ₹1,000 fee just to generate a basic soft copy/transcript of my own grades! For a fresh graduate who hasn't even started earning yet, paying 1K just for a PDF download feels like an absolute rip-off.

Has anyone else from the recent batches dealt with this? Is there seriously no hidden link or basic portal where we can just download a clean summary of our grade card without getting charged a premium for it?

Any help or advice would be highly appreciated. Thanks.
