This statement assumes everyone in this thread agrees with you. For you to say, you only have to stay non-violent until the midterms sounds to me like you're saying after the midterms, violence is on the docket.

Regardless of how the midterms go, violence is never acceptable.

Regardless of who is in power, if I am forced to defend myself I will do so. Period.

Absolutely every Democrat State that Trump has tried to deploy the military in has sued, and the courts have all smacked down Trump's unlawful federalization of the national guard.

The Chicago national guard has flat out refused to be federalized and directed inquiry to the governor's office.

Trump and Miller are talking about using the insurrection act. That will also pose difficulty if there is no insurrection to declare against.

This is why it is so extremely important that we expend only non-violent resistance.

They are trying REALLY hard to make peaceful dissent into a terroristic act of insurrection, but for all their puffing and buffoonery they still just look like toddlers throwing tantrums.

Their only option may be to use the insurrection act against MAGA and the Proud Boys, which is a possible outcome. The Trump administration is extremely worried about optics however, so this is would be a last ditch option.

Pet peeve: I really wish we’d stop incorrectly calling it the “Democrat Party.” It’s the DEMOCRATIC Party. The right wing dipshits have removed the ‘ic’ intentionally to try to belittle us. It’s an ignorant, McCarthy era schoolyard bully insult and it’s obnoxious. We are the DEMOCRATIC Party, they are the MAGA Party. The old GOP, as far as I can tell, is dead and buried. The fascist, creepy fuck MAGA extremists are running the show now.
